Great getaway in the beautiful Eifel region.
Our stay was top. We had beautiful autumn weather and Haus Schonblick was the perfect location to discover the Eifel! Monschau, Vogelsang, National Park Eifel, everything is within 20 minutes reach. The balcony on the top floor has a great view and sunny at the end of the day!

Views were magestic!
The views were stunning. Terrific location for day trips. The host was happy to help and was great in suggesting local attractions and very responsive to inquiries. It was lovely and clean.
As a tall person I did have to watch my head (all well signposted though). Not a big deal, just something to be aware of. Also note we were on the third floor. No issue for us but be aware if you have difficulty with stairs.

uncomfortable place. access to a single very steep path, or alternatively walk on the road. loose plugs, boiler not working, old pans, cups missing. blocked emergency exit. terrace with good views but one meter from a smoke outlet. impracticable access stairs to go with pets.

good place to relax and explore the area
perfect for what we needed. kitchen had everything one needs. bed comfy. our flat had a little balcony which made a nice difference to the experience.
nothing , as expected. If one came via plane/public transport for example it may be easier not to have to take all the towels but we came by car so no problem as space was no issue.

The apartment is located on the top floor (under the roof). It's accessible through a narrow stair. It should be mentioned that the appartement has very low ceilings. Measuring 1,8m I could not pass some doors without having to bend my head.

The property has fantastic views and has everything you need for a weekend away. Located next to a small hiking trail to the top of a hill for even better views. Only a 5 minute drive away from the national park.

The view of the apartment was amazing. We enjoyed the balcony. Kitchen had all necessary items for cooking. Parking was quite easy in front of the premise.
Beds were not that comfortable, they felt like a bit old beds with uneven springs. Also the plates in the kitchen cabinet weren't very clean, had to wash them before first use.

Uns hat der wunderschöne Ausblick in die tolle Landschaft sehr gefallen. Zudem war die Unterkunft sehr tierfreundlich sowie sehr sauber. Die Betten waren sehr bequem. Zur sehr guten Ausstattung gehörte auch eine einfach bedienbare Spülmaschine. Herr Niehus ist ein sehr freundlicher Gastgeber, der hilfsbereit, offen, höflich und zuvorkommend ist.

Het enige wat voor ons makkelijker was geweest was een eettafel waar we ook met zijn 5-en aan hadden kunnen zitten . Die was voor ons gezin iets te klein .

Unbequem und gar nicht entspannend
Sehr schöne Aussicht, gute Nähe zum Rursee und nach Simmerath, ruhige Lag an wenig befahrener Dorftstraße.
Die Treppen im Hausflur haben eine gefährlich geringe Auftrittsbreite. Ich bezweifele, ob das bauordnungsrechtlich zulässig ist! Und es sind Aluleisten angeschraubt, die teils leicht überstehen und zum Stolpern einladen. Im DG hat die Treppe, die mehr Hühnerleiter ist, eine deutliche Engstelle plus einen scharfen Knick und im Rahmen der Wohnungstür, dann eine weitere Stolperkante.
Die Fotos zeigen ganz bewusst nicht, dass die Wohnung Nummer 4 eine DG-Wohnung ist, die sehr niedrig ausgebaut ist. Auf die extrem geringe Raumhöhe, nur ganz knapp über 2 Meter, wird auch im Anzeigentext nicht hingewiesen. Selbst als Mensch, der nicht wie ich 1,95 Meter groß ist, hat man ständig das Gefühl, die Decke fällt einem auf den Kopf. Zudem sind zwei Durchgänge in der Wohnung nur knapp über 1,70 Meter hoch, gebücktes Gehen ist angesagt.
Ähnlich ist es bei der Dusche. Die wegen der geringen Raumhöhe und einem Duschkopf, der in der Verstellung nach oben stark begrenzt ist, nur für kleinere Menschen geeignet ist. Der Badlüfter ist für den kleinen, fensterlosen Feuchtraum zu klein geraten. Nach dem Duschen von zwei Personen muss dieser ewig nachlaufen, sonst beginnt es im Bad zu Müffeln. Im WC, kann man auch nicht aufrecht stehen.
Die Kaltschaummatratzen in der Wohnung sind alle dünn, von minderer Qualität und Haltbarkeit, auch die Federkerne der beiden Schlafsofas, sind durch. Es war ein insgesamt unbequemer und beengter Aufenthalt.
Die Ausstattung der Wohnung ist mangelhaft: ein kaputter Haartrockner im Bad, nur eine einzige Rolle Klopapier im WC, im Wohnzimmer eine Wanduhr die steht, alles in der Besteckschublade, was schneiden soll, ist stumpf. Besteck und Geschirr sind eine bunte Mischung Aussortiertes, am großen Kochtopf, fehlt der vor Hitze schützende Handgriff.
Die Heizkörper im Wohnzimmer, die entlüftet werden müssen, Plätschern lautstrak und die Wohnung ist extrem hellhörig.
Der zweite Rettungsweg, ist mit einem Sofa verstellt, man sollte das Amt verständigen.

Nie wieder!
Handtücher waren selbst mit zu bringen, obwohl diese inkludiert waren laut Beschreibung. Die Deckenhöhe war nur 2 Meter und die Türhöhe teilweise nur 1,70 m in unserer Wohnung, sehr ungünstig, wenn man 1,90 m ist….. Der Fluchtweg war zur Außenleiter war mit einem Sofa zugestellt und das WC war so klein , dass ich dort nicht aufrecht stehen konnte. Weiterhin konnte wir erst 1,5 Stunden nach vereinbarten Check-In in die Wohnung. Sehr enttäuscht!!!

De locatie was prachtig, veel wandelroutes en de gastheer was aardig. Alles was aanwezig.
Het was een beetje gehorig maar dat je hoorde je aan maar s' nachts. Matras was een beetje zacht, maar iedereen heeft natuurlijk zijn eigen voorkeur.

Huisje was schoon en comfortabel, goed bed, en bank. Mooi uitzicht vanuit balkon. Uitgebreide inventaris.
Helaas zaten er een paar Poolse werknemers boven ons die iig in de ochtend al vroeg op weg gingen naar werk en nogal wat lawaai veroorzaakten. Kan de eigenaar niks aan doen, daarom heb ik het ook niet gemeld.

Nix für große Menschen
Kleine Terrasse mit tollem Ausblick. Die Wohnung hat 3 Schlafzimmer, sodass wir (wegen schnarchen) getrennt schlafen konnten. Es gibt gute Wandermöglichkeiten und viele interessante Ziele im Umkreis von nur wenigen Kilometern.
Die Raum-/Türhöhen sind nichts für große Menschen wie uns... trotz Kennzeichnung haben wir uns mehrfach den Kopf gestoßen. Handtücher mitbringen zu müssen ist nicht mehr zeitgemäß. Die Möbel sind sichtbar abgewohnt, z. B. hat die Couch Flecken, da möchte man nicht wissen, wie die entstanden sind. Es ist ein Geschirrspüler vorhanden, aber zu wenig Geschirr und Besteck.

Genau was Wanderer und Naturfreunde brauchen!
Die Unterkunft hat alles, was man sich für einen Urlaub zum Wandern in der Umgebung wünscht. Unsere Wohnung Nr. 1 bietet Platz für 2 Personen und ist, mit der sehr stabilen Ausziehcouch durchaus für eine Familie bis zu 4 Personen geeignet. Alle gängigen Elektrogeräte sind in der Küchenzeile zu finden, der Kühlschrank hat ein kleines Gefrierfach, und ist daher für die notwendige Vorratshaltung sehr hilfreich. Besteck, Geschirr und Trinkgefäße sind reichlich vorhanden, mit der kleinen Spülmaschine ist auch der Abwasch keine große Sache. Das Badezimmer ist gepflegt, modern ausgestattet und der elektronische Durchlauerhitzer sorgt für gleichmäßige Temperaturen, so macht das Duschen nach dem Wandern Spaß. Uns hat besonders der Balkon mit der herrlichen Aussicht gutgetan. Wir haben nach unseren Wanderungen gerne dort gesessen, uns erholt und die Aussicht genossen. Der Standort der Unterkunft ist ideal, um verschiedene Wanderungen durchzuführen. Der nette Vermieter, Herr Niehus, hat uns bereits am Anreisetag einen hilfreichen Tipp für einen ersten Spaziergang gegeben. Der Vermieter ist sehr hilfsbereit und freundlich und kümmert sich schnell um die Belange seiner Mieter. Mein Sohn und ich sind einmal im Jahr in der Eifel um ein paar Tage zu wandern. Wir sind immer an unterschiedlichen Orten und haben daher schon viele Unterkünfte erlebt. Das Haus Schönblick gehört bisher zu den besten Ferienwohnungen die wir bisher erleben durften! Nach unseren Erfahrungen haben Ferienwohnungen oft ein Problem mit Hellhörigkeit. In der Wohnung 1 kam es (besonders in der letzten Nacht von Samstag auf Sonntag) , zu knallenden Türen, trampeln auf der Treppe nach oben, laute Unterhaltungen. Das stört natürlich den Nachtschlaf. Es sind oft die "Mitbewohner" die durch Gedankenlosigkeit, oder durch einen gewissen Alkoholpegel, keine Rücksicht auf andere Mieter nehmen. Schade!
