Cabañas del Rio

We loved our stay at Cabañas del Rio. Well located for everything we wanted to do in the La Fortuna area, easy to drive in and out. The apartments are fairly basic with comfortable beds. The pool was great and the breakfasts lovely, with seating in a covered area next to the garden where you can spot wildlife while you breakfast! Leo and family were so kind and friendly to us and our children, we really enjoyed the night time frog tour too.

I liked the layout of our room, that it was about 3-5 mins from downtown fortuna (via car) and the breakfast.

Beds were a little hard. Rooms had a musty smell and feeling might be due to the season we went in, late June.

What a fantastic property! The location to Arenal Volcano and downtown La Fortuna can't be beat. The showers were hot and the A/Cs were cold. The room was very comfortable. When we arrived, Mairene greeted us at the front desk. She is incredibly helpful and kind, told us everything we could have wanted to know about the room and the area. The first morning we woke up, we had a delicious breakfast served by Leo. While getting in our car for our first adventure, we find the car battery dead. We asked Leo what our options were, and he kindly tried to jump our car with his. And when that did not work, he drove me into Fortuna to purchase a battery, then drove back and installed the new battery himself!! Our car worked perfectly!! Leo was so kind to us in a very stressful moment and we are eternally grateful for Leo's kindness. On the last evening, the view of the top of Arenal Volcano was visible and Mairene walked to every room to let us know we could see it. Just genuine good people that really want their guests to enjoy their time at their property. Everyone at Cabañas del Rio were above all expectations. We could not recommend this property enough if you want to be close to all things Arenal and Fortuna, but out of the busy part of the city.

Location was perfect. Entire property was clean and well capped. The breakfast in the morning was tasty and the convenience have been able to cook on room was perfect for our family. I would definitely recommend it to other families and would stay here again. My small family of three felt safe and secure.
