I don't normally write long reviews or gush but I've stayed at many properties throughout Italy and this one was exceptional. The apartment was small but fully equipped with everything you might need including coffee, water, salt, dish soap and laundry detergent. It is modern, clean and the matteress was wonderful even thought it was actually a pull out couch. The terrace outside was greatly appreciated and a very nice place to relax and even big enough to entertain a few people. The view from street level was magnificent panorama of the bay of Naples with Vesuvius in the background. Probably the best thing was the host couple who provided tons of information about places to visit, transportation, restaurants, etc... They also provided well documented instruction on how to use everything in the apartment and lovely to chat with. Definitely will try to book this next time I'm in town.
While it didn't bother me because I know the area, a casual visitor should know that the apartment sits on the hillside overlooking the Mergellina neighborhood but getting to it requires a 200 meter walk to the Funicolare. Once you get there (10 minute ride), there are lots of restaurants and cafes at your fingertips and from there you have access to the metro, busses and taxi's to any part of the city. I think parking would not be a problem since there were several open spots on the street right in front of the apartment but driving in Naples is not for the faint of heart which is why I chose to avoid a rental car. My taxi to the airport (arranged by the host) was about 25 Euro (very reasonable).

Wir wurden sehr herzlich von den Vermietern empfangen. Françoise und Enzzo waren für alle Fragen auch während unseres Aufenthaltes offen und haben sensationell unterstützt, was Tipps für Sehenswürdigkeiten, Unternehmungen und Erklärung des Öffentlichen Nahverkehrs betrifft. Die Lage mit dem super Panorama ist herausragend und in 2-3 Minuten ist man an der Finiculare Napoli. Die bringt einen runter zum Hafen, von wo man alles erreichen kann. Im Apartment hat es an nichts gefehlt, die Küche ist top ausgestattet, alles war picobello sauber und somit können wir abschließend nur sagen, dass wir jeder Zeit wieder hier wohnen wollten. Also absolut empfehlenswert!
