La Casa Del Doganiere

This is the most amazing place I’ve ever stayed! Gorgeous views from the 3 terraces, fantastic location, comfortable bed, outdoor dining, etc. This place has so much character and charm with the stone walls and patios outside and the nautical design with wood detailing inside. We could not get over the incredible views! In fact, we bought wine and cooked dinner or picked up pizza every night so that we could enjoy spending the evening on the terrace. One night we ate under the awning in a thunderstorm, mesmerized by a lightning show over the water. Another night a piano player performed for 3 hours on the path above the beach; we enjoyed the music while eating dinner and drinking wine. I actually felt like a celebrity staying here!

The kitchen could be a bit better equipped - I would add more cutlery and small bowls, a couple more wine glasses, a salad bowl, and a dish towel.

The location was incredible and the views wonderful. Having the choice of three terraces for different points in the day, as well as easy access to the old and new towns and their beaches - was brilliant. Great for exploring the other towns too as near the station and the port. Well appointed with everything we needed, and nice little details thought of. Kind and good communication from the host. Strong AC too which was a god send in the intense heat outside.

It’s a very minor point, but I guess the room scent spray is to cover up a drainage smell - every now and then it creeps through, and the air freshener was a little irritating to my sinuses.

Stunning location on the water which views all around. Very quiet location. Well worth the cost to stay in the best location in Monterosso!

As the photos suggest this is an exceptionally unusual property with an interesting history and amazing views. Very special.

Stairs are challenging but we expected that.
