Amber Plaza de España Skyline

The hotel is located on a quiet street right next to Plaza de España, just a short flight of stairs away from Gran Vía and the heart of Madrid. The apartment was spacious, comfortable, and very well equipped. The kitchen had everything we needed, the living room was cozy, the beds were comfortable, and plenty of towels were provided. Since there is no daily housekeeping service, it would have been nice to have a few extra dishwasher tablets supplied in advance. Also, it's worth noting that the washing machine and dryer are shared facilities located outside the apartment, rather than inside the apartment itself.

The shower was a major disappointment and significantly affected our stay. The hot water had extremely high pressure and was scalding hot, while the cold water had very low pressure. As a result, it was practically impossible to achieve a comfortable shower temperature and water flow. Our only options were either a powerful stream of burning-hot water or a weak stream of cold water. We reported the problem to the staff more than three times and even asked to speak with the manager. To be fair, the hotel did actively attempt to repair the plumbing, but unfortunately, the issue was never resolved. Although the staff were polite and responded with smiles and reassurances, we never received a proper solution, a meaningful response from management, or any compensation. In a situation like this, we would have expected the hotel to offer a different room or appropriate financial compensation. A properly functioning shower is a basic expectation at any hotel, especially since we were visiting Madrid for an intensive sports week and being able to shower comfortably after training was particularly important. It's a shame, because otherwise the apartment and location were excellent.

Great central location, but quiet. Very clean. Staff very friendly. Felt very secure. Great facilities and very comfortable.

The recycling facilities weren't very comprehensive but that's likely a city-wide issue.
