Anastasia 2 bedrooms apartment on Váci utca

N/A re breakfast. Disappointed no coffee, tea, pepper and salt etc (as usual in most establishments) provided. Location good.

There are some little things that could be done. For instance, there were signs saying "No luggage on couches" but no where else to put luggage in small bedroom, while there were 2 tables in the larger bedroom. (So we moved one to the smaller bedroom so as not to put on couch.) Also there were 2 mirrors in larger bedroom, but none in smaller one. The bracket holding up the shower head was broken and was awkward to use. The tap over the toilet hand basin was corroded and couldn't be shut off properly, hence always running. We went out of our way to find the office to report this in person while there, but we weren't welcome. Told we shouldn't have come, and there we thought we were helping by reporting.

The location of the apartment was excellent. Straight out onto the street for shops, town, cafes and also the riverside., with the riverside route tram stop a very short walk away. One bedroom overlooked the courtyard, the other onto the front street. It’s on the 3rd floor, but there is a lift. Even though I was in the bedroom overlooking the street with a couple of café bars nearby, it was extremely quiet, I wasn’t disturbed at all by any noise. The apartment was clean and comfortable, spacious, and had pretty much everything we could have needed. The hosts responded to any messages extremely promptly, and were so helpful. The hosts also organised a taxi for us from the airport to the accommodation, we had Andrea from Budapest taxis who was also helpful, got us to the accommodation and even got out to ensure we got our keys safely. Above and beyond. The cost of the journey 38 Euros. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * This part has NOTHING at all to do with the accommodation, but I just want to share a warning wherever I can for anyone visiting Budapest. DO NOT EVER EVER get into a taxi without checking the price of the journey first and that they are registered and hold a license to operate in Budapest, and that they are an official taxi company. Check the side doors of the cabs for a logo. There are independent “freelance” taxis running around Budapest, of which we were sadly not aware, hence we were severely scammed on our journey back to the airport .. 6 times more expensive than our journey in. Please just be aware! or use an app where you get the price and then book. Official fleets use yellow roof signs saying TAXI, and not black. We failed to get the money back .. but learned a lot by trying to do that. If you do get scammed, it’s fraud, you could offer them the correct rate, say you will call the police (they won’t want that) .. otherwise pay by card (not cash), insist on a receipt (not handwritten, but with the company logo!), take a photo of the driver’s

The apartment was pretty faultless, so there is nothing I can honestly say we didn't like about it or the helpful hosts.

Ligging

The place was very spacious and when there was a problem, someone came by to fix it quite soon. The location is also very nice, in the middle of the centre!

the place to store our luggage was not easy to find, and the sleeping couch was hard to put together, and not mega comfortable. Not very important, but the decor of the apartment could use a little update;)
