Palm Garden

It’s so close to the marina, easy to walk there and not too far away from Vilamoura beach or Falasia beach. The pool was perfect and our apartment was great for what we wanted.

Unfortunately it was a dirty tray in the oven and wet towels in the machine when we arrived. But this can’t really be blamed on the owner, but rather the guests that stayed before us.

Very easy access to the property. Spacious accom for a group of friends or a family. Lovely size balcony and pool area - although we didn't use it due to the weather. It was easy to walk to the marina and there is a walk way through to cut off the corner. Nice to have a 3rd toilet.

It wasn't as clean as it could be and the door to the bathrooms kept getting stuck on the flooring when opening and closing the doors so you had to really shove it. The shower door in the en suite was tiny and you had to turn sideways and body parts kept catching on the doors when getting in or out.

The location is great and only a short walk to the centre and a few meters to the supermarket and pharmacy. The apartment is very spacious and secure. The host organised a new replacement toaster for the broken toaster very quickly when prompted via the chat facility. There is also Netflix,prime etc available on the main tv in the living room. Toilet rolls and hand soap was also available free of charge when we arrived which was a nice surprise.

There are a few snagging issues in the apartment primarily due to its age. The main issue is that one of the bathroom and main bedroom doors are catching on the tiled floors and need some shaving off the bottoms. It’s VERY loud and annoying having to try and force the doors open each day/night. The sinks in the kitchen have no plug to stop the water flowing down them and the plug mechanism does not work. There were only two of us and it would have been much quicker to rinse and wash a plate/mug than load the dishwasher which took ages to complete its cycle. The shower is amazing and has a real pressured force to it but the cubicle is quite small which again is a shame but could be SO much nicer. Lastly a word of warning the lifts in this complex are tiny and would probably not fit a large pushchair into. We had a mobility scooter which also did not fit and had to be stood upright to get into the lift. Not something the owners can do much about but might be a consideration. The workaround was not too bad for us as the scooter is lightweight. Lastly the ramp externally to the property is very steep without much of a turning circle so requires caution and a helper to navigate if using a scooter.

There was building work going on causing a lot of noise. it would have been nice to have been told this before we booked and I think some compensation should be given. We have been before and re booked but we probably wouldn’t have having known this as if spoiled our relaxing break. The noise also started at 630 am.
