Nice Center Room

The host was really helpful. He sent me very detailed instructions on the cheapest way to get from the airport by public transport and also sent me precise directions once I got off at the tram stop. He met me outside in the street and carried my luggage upstairs and gave me a useful introduction. The room I was allocated - Room 1 was a lovely room, quite spacious with high ceilings and a marble fireplace above which was a large ornate mirror. It was nicely furnished with a solid wooden chest and matching chest of drawers, a wrought iron bed and a computer desk with a chair that also had a wrought iron design. The bed was comfortable with large plump pillows covered in attractive patterned material. The large double window which had a view of terracotta roof tops and looked down onto courtyards could be fully opened to let in fresh air and natural sunlight. The accommodation was in a beautiful building, although situated in not a particularly appealing street. However it was close to public transport, the local fruit and vegetable market, some bars and restaurants and within reasonable walking distance of the historic quarter of Nice. The shared kitchen facilities were adequate and included a table with two chairs, a fridge and stove top with two burners and some breakfast items being provided. Supplying guests with ear plugs and a hand-held fan, as well as information contained in a folder in each room on places to visit were thoughtful gestures.

Having to share the bathroom with other guests in the adjacent room (Room 2), particularly if they are not considerate of others and consequently spend ages in the bathroom preparing to go out. Another aspect which could be disconcerting is the fact that the host also resides in the property. He has the third bedroom and although he tries to be as discreet as possible when cleaning the premises or using the kitchen to cook, this could potentially be an issue for some guests.

The room was large and I enjoyed having a shared kitchen to eat breakfast. The host is super friendly, he helped us carry our suitcase to the fourth floor. When I had a question about the washing machine he was really fast to come and help us.

- the host, Danylo was friendly while being respectful of his guests privacy - the common areas are cleaned everyday. - the location is very convenient (and personally, I felt safe in that street). - ammenities like hairdryer, clothing iron. Plus a lot of clothing hangers (many accommodations don't think of this). In short: Overall I can easily recommend this place. Danylo is helpful and clearly cares about the apartment (nice artwork made by his mother!).

Other reviews mentioned noise from outside but I felt completely fine with it, since I knew that the accommation would be in a central area. However: The walls inside the apartment are THIN. The first night was no issue, since the other guest was also quiet and considerate. The second night was also no issue since there was no other guest staying. The last night however... I kindly asked the other couple to at least turn down the music and keep the door to their room closed. Which to be fair, they did, after I asked. However I could hear them talking (and quite clearly) until at least 3am - despite me ending up wearing earphones. If you are not someone who can sleep through noise nor with earplugs... I'd recommend to book this place together with people you know. Small suggestion: A sign inside the rooms that reminds the guests to be aware that other guests can easily hear them.

The room is situated in a good location close to the central station. Other tram and bus stops are easily accessible. Lots of places to drink and eat in nearby area. The host was pleasant and communicated every details properly.

The room is passable in terms of quality for the price paid. Even though it is situated in the post, I would say it here again. It is a room in a shared apartment which may not be always a pleasant experience.
