Hotel Holiday Maria

The location, facing the river, was amazing. Buffet breakfast with a large assortment of food, from home made cakes to all kinds of cheese, salami, salads, warm dishes and good coffee. Safe parking lot free of charge, helpful staff, warm welcome with homemade chocolate and blueberry liquor from the house, non-stop thermal pools and a good selection of dishes at the restaurant, everything was almost perfect. On top of this, the owner is taking time to talk to everybody, checking if you need anything. I will recommend this place to my friends and for sure I will come back

You cannot control the room temperature. The only way is to call the reception. If it's 3 am and it is too hot, you need to call, or open the windows, but for the rooms facing the river, it can be too noisy. Maybe this can be improved in the future.

The welcome from the owners was very nice throughout. Being able to use the hot thermal pool and 'jacuzzi' any time was a bonus. I liked the fact we were provided with a bath robes and slippers. The bed in our room was comfortable and I slept well. Balcony was nice and big with a great view of the river and gorge which is majestic!

Breakfast had a good selection but the food on offer was not particularly appealing. Room was comfortable but dated. You have to walk through the sub-level parking lot to access the pool and jacuzzi which wasn't working. The owner did tell us new additional facilities were going to be built. Although the parking is being expanded we did have to park on the street whenwe returned later in the evening. I imagine in the summer when the place is really busy parking may be harder. Being honest and from experience of many hotels across Europe I'm not sure the hotel's rating is a tru reflection of its quality.

They couldn't turn the temperature down when we told them. It was unbearably hot. The thermostat on the wall was showing 27.5 Celsius degrees and couldn't be modified! The shower cabin has no walls just a flimsy shower curtain. When one showered the water goes everywhere in the bathroom.

Perfect location for our trip heading north. Very friendly helpful staff. Good meal in the evening and fantastic breakfast spread.
