had the best experience at De Malee!! everything was excellent

Room was great size, breakfast and staff were amazing, and free shuttle to beach was convenient.

Nothing, we loved our stay.

Staff were exceptional. Even helped us deal with a flight cancellation and helped us call airline with language barrier. Shuttle buggy really good service and dealing with staff via WhatsApp was 10/10 - very quick to respond to requests.

Unfortunately it’s one of those highly edited places and the photos look nothing like the actual room. The bedroom section is nice. The pool area is very poor in my opinion we didn’t even use it. The breakfast was poor also and we only had breakfast once and never returned. The cost of the Villa was fine for our budget but we expected more attention to deal it felt very basic. And for just short of £200 a night - it felt not worth the money and I rarely think that about places. We were left very disappointed. But it’s an issue staff cannot rectify so didn’t need to mention it.

Love the location. out of the way, in and amongst a local community but also close to other villa resorts and 10mins drive to the beach, Staff were great. Very attentive and available when needed. they use Whatsapp for comms, which was quite useful.

the villa is nice, but its a bit old and tired. The cleaners dont clean- they tidy up, so the villa was never truly clean. on more than one occasion they forgot to empty bins or take empty bottles away. The TV was falling off the wall and felt unsafe and there are only local terrestrial channels (thai and chinese only). the jets in the pool didnt work so there was no jacuzzi function. the lights in the pool didnt work so it wasnt pleasant using it after sundown. The breakfasts were awful. the bread/croissants/cakes etc were very old and the same foods were put out day after day. one day i ordered a waffle and got a stale croissant from earlier in the week that had been squashed into the waffle machine. very low effort of the food. by the 6th breakfast, we were looking at items from the first breakfast that had frost bite or completely stale. one morning we ordered omlette on toast but it came with smoked ham so we reminded them of our order and the staff came back with the same plate within about 10 seconds, minus the ham. we didnt eat it. generally the facilities are a bit run-down and the whole place could do with a bit of TLC.
