U Betty - Ostrava Centrum

the receptionist was really sweet and helpful and a hostel in the center of Ostrava literally two minutes by foot from a grocery store, shopping center, riverside, cafés, restaurants and bars for such a low price is, in my opinion, a really good deal! we had a twin room with a private bathroom so i don’t know how the shared bathroom looks like and whether it’s okay but our bathroom was totally fine and clean.

BUT if you’re not used to cheap old hostels, it’s probably not a good idea to book this one. luckily, we hadn’t any problems with anyone but it’s certainly good to know that because of the price you can find many weird people there. what’s more, it’s hard to find it when you arrive. there’s no sign that shows the hostel’s name only a paper note showing where the reception is. it’s in a small “shop” next to the entrance door to the rooms. they should organize this better. there were many people smoking on the balcony as it’s a smoking area, but many times they left the door open and so the corridor smelled like smoke. but in the room it wasn’t really a problem. if you let the windows open most of the time it’s completely okay. you only get one toilet paper roll per day which is quite annoying when there are two of you and you run out of it really quickly so you have to go to the reception to get a new one 😭 but i think it’s a prevention from stealing 😭 the last thing is the shared kitchen which is not really a kitchen. it’s only a small counter with a sink, a microwave, a fridge with a little freezer inside, and a kettle that we were scared to use as it was plastic..

Je to na skvělém místě v samém centru historického města a za skvělou cenu! Měli jsme pokoj s koupelnou.

Není tam klimatizace, když je venku 38 stupňu je tam horko.

Need to improve the receptionist because she didn't know how to speak English but she is good and nice she is trying to do her best. 💕

Location

Very noisy. Neighbouring rooms occupants seemed to be drunk and arguing all night.. Door to the room had a hole punched in it.
