Hostel Moravia Ostrava

Hostel Moravia is a hostel, so there are shared bathroom, toilet and kitchen. This gives chance to meet and to talk to other guests, and you always meet interesting fellow travellers in a place like this. George, who checked us in, gave a lot of useful advice about where to go in Ostrava, places to visit and to find food. Our room overlooked a beautiful square and gave good views of the historic quarter in Přívoz, which we specifically wanted to visit. There's a good cafe-restaurant on the ground floor, and a great baker on the other side of the street. It is only a few minutes walk from the station, and on the main tramlines into the city centre. The street outside was really quiet, with only buses, trams and taxis.

It was a long walk to the toilet in the middle of the night! There was some building work going on while we were there, and because of this, I think, the towels in the gents toilets were not as clean as I would expect. The automatic lights are fine, but the sensors can't see you when you are sat on the toilet, so all goes dark when you least expect it. Take a torch! But don't let these comments put you off.

Everything was great. The booking process was easy and the experience met my expectations.

Friendly staff , good value for money

Neighbourhood

Common kitchen was equipped quite well. Rooms spatious and clean. Well localized.

First (out of 2) night there was no warm water! Only 2 showers for each big floor, one of them critally small.
