About this house rental
"Ashanti" is the perfect Madaket getaway. The property is nicely landscaped and offers privacy as well as many outdoor gathering spaces.
The house can sleep up to 14 people and is generously equipped for a great beach vacation.
North side of house:
Spacious queen bedroom w/ flat screen TV & closet.
Spacious queen bedroom w/ flat screen TV & closet.
Twin bedroom with two twin beds. Great for kids
Southside of the house:
Bunk-bed room with three bunk beds, a couch, and flat screen TV.
Queen bedroom with large closet and Window/Door sliders to front deck.
In between the North & South sleeping areas is large, open living, dining and kitchen space with soaring ceiling, a wood stove fireplace and generous sitting area.
The fully-equipped kitchen has an island with 4 stools and opens into the dining room that seats 8 comfortably at the wide country table.
Large private outdoor backyard deck is perfect for dining al fresco. Large manicured yard, too!
Enjoy a family dinner with the sun setting on the west facing back porch. and experience tranquility while reading your newspaper or novel on the front porch.
10 minute walk to Tristram's private beach, 5 minute walk to Millies and General Store, and around the corner easy access to the bike path/town bus stop!
There is a private, landscaped yard with gas grill, outdoor shower, and outdoor picnic table.
Nantucket is a spectacular Island, which makes it a popular destination!
We have a strict cancellation policy.
**60 day Cancellation policy**
Full refund will be issued if cancelled 60 days prior to check in date. Any cancellation within 60 days of reservation, NO refund will be offered.
Our home should be left as you have found it.
All boogie boards and beach toys should be rinsed off and left on the deck.
Starbuck is a quiet residential neighborhood. We ask that quiet time is between 9:00 pm and 8:00 am.
Trash: It is very important to recycle on our island. Garbage cans are provided next to the garage. Please leave trash outside before your departure.
Minimum age of primary renter: 30
Max guests: 14
Reservation will be complete after guest agreement is signed
Any breach of the agreement including occupancy will result in a total loss of security deposit

We appreciated the pet friendly, our elderly dog passed away before we traveled, He would have loved it. Proximity to beach and neighborhood in Madaket are also big draw for us. The space also offers a lot of privacy, almost like separate suites which I can see would help with larger families.

Such a pleasant experience at Ashanti. Chris and Bettina were extremely accommodating hosts. Highly recommend staying here with your group if you can!

There were a number of positives and negatives; the positives:
- good sized main living room
- nice large, shady deck for outdoor meals
- good outdoor seating
- outdoor shower was useful
- reasonably close to beautiful beaches
Some negatives:
- large main yard was unmowed, which was unpleasant and we weren't really able to use it
- decks had some protruding nail heads, which were somewhat treacherous
- washer and dryer were old and took a long time to run and were very noisy
- window screens and screen door were poorly fitting/broken, and left large gaps, which resulted in some insect issues
- small ants were spotted in kitchen cupboards and on kitchen floor
- screen slider didn't slide well / was broken (though still usable)
- lack of AC made sleeping uncomfortable
- furniture was musty; furniture covers had rips and stains
- stove had only three small burners working (main one was broken)
- refrigerator shelf fell down three times, seemed broken also (we ultimately left it down)
- yard and deck still had some confetti and some paraphernalia from a bachelorette party were left in the house
overall, it could have been cleaner, and there were some other inconveniences... I would definitely return to Nantucket, but I would probably not rent this place again
