Very cold in winter, heating difficult to use

The location was pretty good, while you do have to walk down to appreciate the lake, once you get there it's a lovely view so the location of the park is close to the main centre and castle too.

We stayed in the December winter and unfortunately the property was very cold and we had a family of three including older people who had to really wrap up to stay warm. The main room electric heaters were on short timers and repeatedly switched off after a short period (about 20 minutes despite it saying 2 hours), including overnight, which made it difficult to stay warm and we kept getting disrupted sleep. Furthermore we showed up with the property only having 7 pounds of electricity credit in the meter and we arrived late at night with no ways to top it up. There were no manuals or clear instructions provided for the heaters or timers, so it was unclear how they were intended to be used. The main living area also struggled to retain heat and the space heaters were very dusty. Some of the kitchen equipment appeared poorly maintained, including a visibly rusted toaster and the extendable table was not working while there was dust under the sofas. General cleanliness could have been better, with pretty noticeable dust around the lamps and heaters Given the price paid and the time of year, the lack of reliable heating, clear instructions, and maintenance was disappointing.

Heating in bedroom should be clearly labeled how to switch on. ( I’m savvy but a bit of a strange setup) Having to pay for electricity. Patio doors very hard to open and shut.

Disappointing

The location was stunning, I imagine it is beautiful in summer.

The bed linen in the double room was wet in the bottom quarter when we went to bed, not just damp. Similarly, the towels were damp, including the kitchen . As this was bed time, I could only feed back to the host the day after. They were apologetic and commented that they used a cleaning service and did not look after such things themselves. A general lack of love and care is sadly obvious with stuffing coming out of the sofa, trailing blind fixtures and dust. The beds were so uncomfortable, thin and with protruding springs. This was noted last summer by guests too. The WiFi does not work, and some tv instructions would have helped us out. Hosts were quick to respond to any questions and were especially helpful with directing us to electric cards as we were arriving after office hours. On the whole, very disappointing.

Lovely spot with several limitations

Lovely aspect nice location

The main bed was very small and the mattress was lumpy and in need of replacing. The wifi was ok for half the time and non existing the other half. We had to resort to either the pool bar or the cafe within the park to access their wifi. Host/owner not on site so some difficulty getting answers to problems

Wonderful stay. Can’t wait to come back again!

Spacious, clean and had everything we needed. We have a large family and this was perfect for us! Even the dog enjoyed himself! Our children loved the swimming pool and park. The food at the pool bar restaurant was amazing! And we had a lovely breakfast at route 66 in the morning. All the staff are lovely and friendly. We really enjoyed our stay! Would highly recommend and we can’t wait to come back!

Lovely little find

Great location, short drive to lots of great spots. Cabin snug but comfortable for our family of 7 ( 2 adults 5 children) Great decking area and view point. Kitchen perfect for a short stay and lovely bathroom. Towels provided.

Mattresses on beds were very springy and squashy - felt like all 5 mattresses could do with a refresh. Little bit dirty in places, reaching to get a car that got lost under sofa and bed, lots of dust and general grime from not being moved to clean under. Couldn't make television work. On arrival the front door (nearest to kitchen) was already open, we retrieved keys as described and went to leave. We couldn't lock the door mentioned above and it appears cleaners couldn't either. So we just had to risk leaving door open when out. You could lock it from the inside. Two blinds go up and down but the chains are broken so have to roll them with your hands. All little things for us but hopefully helpful for host to perfect there great chalet

Location is stunning. Nicely laid out chalet, plenty of space. Kitted out with all the essentials. Very clean. Lovely neighbours

WiFi was a little hit and miss. Electric meter might become expensive if heating required. Well enough insulated to not for our visit, used £15 for 4 night stay (leaving a little for next occupants)

The lodge is set in beautiful surroundings, spotlessly clean and cosy. A great location with so many places to visit just a short drive away. Myself and my family had a wonderful little break here and will definitely return.

Pleasant stay

Location is exceptional. The property is just near the lake. Ample place for kids to play around. Very close vicinity to supermarkets by car. We loved the view of the house.

The TV wasn’t working. struggle to get the wifi working. Couldn’t find plugpoints in kids room.

Exceptional

Absolutely stunning location. The most calming holiday we've had in a long time. The pool was amazing for the kids. The chalet had everything in terms of utensils etc and was a great size for us.

The shower was very temperamental. Either freezing cold or scolding hot, without being able to adjust it. 2 out of 4 of us only managed to use it once while we were there. I washed my hair in the sink both days! It's a shame the poolside bar didn't open until 4pm. Even if out of season there were still a large number of us using the pool.

Cleanliness was just poor. Also hot water wasn’t working, we had to figure out ourselves how to make it work. Squeaky bunks and uncomfortable mattresses on them.

The location is super. The view over the lake is lovely. The bedrooms and lounge area are a good size and more than adequate for a holiday home. The outside area is a nice bonus unfortunately the weather prevented us from using but would be lovely on nice sunny day.

I think an oven/ air-fryer would be useful. I don’t know if the microwave doubles as an oven but no instructions. There are some minor maintenance issues ie pantry door is falling off just needs a screw in the hinge. The bathroom window won’t open. Minor and easy to fix.

Good sitting out area and excellent views. Entire site had a relaxed atmosphere and welcoming. Comfortable beds.

No local information or family games dvds etc. Unable to get tv reception. Electricity payable in addition and no explanation meter card did not register payment immediately. No washing up liquid or cloth to wipe down tops.

Overall lovely.

Lovely, comfortable chalet, in a lovely position overlooking the lake, enough room for family of four, albeit we were just a couple, car parking literally alongside chalet . The whole site is lovely and in a lovely location. The diner is a "must visit", fantastic burgers and very friendly staff. Will definitely use this site again.

Just 2 small things, only 1 Tea towel and quite a struggle to warm chalet up to comfortable temperature, mostly due to cost of electricity (not included in the price) , budget for approximately £5 per day, this time of (March) year. That said, we would use again.

I wouldn’t say I didn’t like anything just few things could be changed couch in living room but spoke to owners ;) could be cleaned but more deeply as a cleaner myself I found under the couch and behind hadn’t been cleaned un the cubboards bottom of windows maybe leave a mop bucket and brush do gets can clean as they go I like to do that ;) also the mat in the living room needs grips on as very slippy having said that I would return ;)

The location is literally the only thing this property had in its favour. It has a nice view of a river.

The chalet has seen better days without a doubt and is in dire need of some maintenance, care and attention and a top to bottom clean. The owner admittedly hasn't visited in while so has trusted the reviews on here! The place was filthy. Full of dust under the beds, sofas, shelving. Only 3 forks in the place for 4 of us (there were no spares anywhere as we checked), an extendable dining table, with no way to extend it, no outside light (bulb must have gone) and the surrounding area was literally pitch black. Make up on bed cushions, tatty old sofas and cushions. Bedding and towels were bobbled and good enough to use on a dog. The toilet brush was an utter disgrace, absolutely foul and we had a left over old bar of soap in the bathroom with someone else's hair on it. My Son's socks were ruined from the disgusting state of the floors. We had booked for 2 nights for nearly £200 for my Husband's 50th birthday, we slept the one night and packed up first thing the next morning and went home, it was too filthy to stay. The Owner has offered apologies and thanks for bringing it to his attention, but absolutely no offer of a deserved refund. I'll never use Booking.com again, you are covered for nothing basically, you get what you pay for and you are stuffed if anything is wrong with it. I'll stick with a Premier Inn next time, at least its clean, I know what I'm getting and there is someone interested if you have any issues. Shame on you North Wales chalet and shame on Booking.com too for not managing to resolve a completely ruined trip for us.

Stunning location

The location was exceptional stunning The owners seemed very nice and the chalet was clean and tidy

We left on Christmas eve due to a couple of things so only stayed 2 nights Bought all the stuff for Xmas Dinner........ no oven Wasn't prepared to put any more money in the electricity meter £25 in 2.5 days and there was already a few quid in it

Lovely chalet, lovely outside balcony area, nice view, very homely and comfortable, peaceful vibe, great bedroom space for kids
