Do Step Inn Central - Self-Service-Hostel

I liked how the hostel is located next to the main train station, this was a great welcome as it meant I was within walking distance to the metro (travelling around the city centre) and I could catch the train on its way to Hallstatt. It was easy to book, and clear instructions on how to check-in. I liked how the hostel was clean and tidy. I respect that the bed had sliding doors for privacy.

I didn’t like the pillows, too squishy and soft as I was sinking into the pillow which made my sleep uncomfortable. I kept hitting my knees off the wooden doors because the bed is quite narrow. I didn’t like that there was no safe place for my luggage, I had to sleep with it next to me. With me being tall, I found it hard trying to get in and out of the bed, the gap of the sliding doors was small to get out from. The sliding doors were noisy, to pull. I helped someone who had limited English check-in on my iPhone at the hostel because their phone couldn’t access the website for check-in, the links kept loading but no access. We did try to call for help on the tannoy but the person on the other end was unhelpful. This person’s phone was Android, so there must be something wrong with the website links access to an Android phone. I would like to see reception hours to be included which would help people have peace of mind that they can check-in if something like this happened again, someone can’t access the website because the links wouldn’t work on their phone.

We booked this hostel mainly because of its location near the central station, and it met our expectations. Nothing extraordinary, but a good value for money and a convenient option for a short stay. There is also a supermarket right next to the hostel, which was very convenient.

Our self-check-in was delayed a little due to a system issue, which can happen and is understandable. However, the staff member was not as attentive or helpful as we expected.

Nice location and very clean inside, the beds have individual locks on which is good ive never seen this before and it made me feel very safe. very good value for money also right next to the train station

No AC and it was extremely hot though i did visit in august so out of summer this isnt an issue, there was a fan provided but it wasnt much difference.

Convenient and cheap

Not very sociable and not even any staff to help those struggling with check-in
