Our beautiful lakefront home located in the Emerald lakes private community is the perfect vacation destination for your family.
Emerald lakes is a convenient and centrally located community for your vacation. We are about 1-1/2 hours from Philadelphia and New York City. We are within a few miles of Camelback skiing, Camel Beach water park and Camelback mountain adventures; Crossings shopping outlets; Mt airy casino; Pocono Raceway; numerous state parks, hiking trails, fine dining, and supermarkets. We are only a short drive from Jack Frost/Big Boulder. We are located on one acre right on Mountain Top Lake, 50-acre lake, in Emerald Lakes. Our unique lot is a peninsula that offers spectacular lakefront views ! This private community offers outdoor pool, beaches, community clubhouse, sauna, basketball and tennis courts, and a playground for the kids. Besides our lake, there are 4 other lakes in the community for swimming, fishing, kayaking, canoeing, or pedal boating.

The house was very nice as was the location. The property manager was great and the home owners were very accomodating to some special requests we made.
Our problem was with some of the people who live in the community. Twice in 3 days we were "checked out" by the local law enforcement. The first time we were accused of running our gas boat motor which was impossible as it was not working. The second time on a different lake we were observed for a significant amount of time from the shore again by law enforcement. On the first event, law enforcement was very nice to us, accepted my response to the accusation and left. Unfortunately these encounters were very upsetting to our family and impacted the remainder of our trip.

I will start on a positive note. The kitchen and bathrooms were spotless. The pond was very peaceful and quite. Sadly, the amenities listed were not accurate. There are no boats which was extremely disappointing for my family. The grill and cleaning tools for it were present, but were filthy and unusable. We didn’t use the foosball table because the legs were extremely wobbly and a few of the bolts weren’t attached to anything. The twin size mattresses were uncomfortable and the springs were noisy. It’s also important to note that renters must dispose of their own trash/recycling at the community compactor which has limited hours starting at 9am. I only hope the owner corrects the issues at the home for future renters.
