It is convenient as I am on a block course at Waikato. It is close to shops too.

I do not like the remote sign in and failure to disclose the key box option until I pushed the point. I was carless and it made it very difficult to get the key. In July I stayed there, there was a person on site and it was 30 dollars cheaper, not a special deal. There was no milk.

The fact that the tap on the bathroom sink was so loose it moved 180°!!!! The pedal bin in the kitchen area didn't work properly. There was only one huge kitchen knife which was totally inappropriate, nothing smaller. Having to drive to a different motel to book in which wasn't advised until after booking.

Great location, ok room, icky bathroom

For the price range the room was fine. It was standard for a motel room in terms of bed quality. Kitchenette was ok with the appropriate amount of silverware and dinnerware. The room was quiet- no street noise. The location was great if your goal is to visit the university.

Key pickup at a different motel 20 minutes away (40 if you come during rush hour). Bizarre maintenance issues in the bathroom - tap not mounted properly to the sink (you can turn it around), vanity drawer mounted in an absolutely crooked way that makes it impossible to close and looks like a third world country bathroom, old mold in the shower. A broken piece of a blind controlling system left on the toilet water tank. It is all a product of remote management of the motel - nobody on site, no quality control of what contractors are doing. I spoke to the staff about it on the last day - let’s hope they will fix it, because the motel is in a relatively new building and has a good location. All it needs is proper management and maintenance.

The room was very spacious and comfortable.

Once i got to the property it was clean, but rude staff and terrible key situation

Clean

Staff incredibly rude stubborn and unhelpful. It turns out in the small print it says one is supposed to go to a different locastion to get the room key, NO ONE is at the property. After a long bus ride and uber to the motel, I had to then uber to get key, then uber back to the Uni motel. All costing more than the intercity bus ride to get there from Auckland. Turns out this happened to ALL the other people staying at the Uni Motel the same time as me, so owners KNOW this happens and yet do nothing to fix it. Staff acted as if i was the first person to ever foolishly make this mistake. GASLIGHT!! Especially as i am a 60 year old woman alone in a strange city.

Loved our stay, we had every thing we needed!

Nice modern room layout with all the basic needs, all in great condition and very clean. The lounge was a welcomed extra! Easy to access for parking. Good location.

Windows were blurred so couldn’t see outside. Also the windows didn’t allow fresh air to circulate within the room, especially at night when you pulled down the blinds to block the street light. It got a little stuffy in the room, but luckily the air con can help with that! Wasn’t aware that check in was from a different location.

It was a good stay except the noise.

The room size was quite spacious. The room is clean too which is important for me when I choose stay-ins. Excellent variety of home items such us cutlery, plates etc.

The whole building was just too loud. Maybe this is due to the hotel was built. My room was on the ground floor and you can here footsteps from upstairs. The main door appears to be broken (tape is wrapped around it). I think one of the reasons that made this experince unpleasant was just how the let the doors slam when the guests come in and out. Overall, it was a good place to stay with a good price.

good and bad

The room was well groomed and very clean

As a manual wheelchair user I book rooms under the understanding that they are fully accessible as advertised. Unfortunately this accessible unit/room had two main problems, the biggest being access through the main entrance was thrawted by a high ridge and a very heavy door to push open. As there is no reception onsite I had to get my son inlaw over to get me into the room and hence my son inlaw said even if there was no ridge it still would of been a mission for me to push the door open from my seated position. Secondly all the utensils ie cups, glasses were in the overhead cupboards which i couldn't reach if I were alone. This is not my first rodeo being faced with barriers and unfortunately it wont be my last. So if you are reading this Uni Motel Hamilton please address these issues, otherwise the room was brilliant
