Paul's palace - absolute center!

The apartment is part of a very beautiful, classical, historical building and located perfectly in the heart of the old town of Bratislava. I think it doesn´t go any better as for the location. It´s surrounded by all sorts of cafes, pubs, restaurants and shops and there is a magical vibe in the evening if you just look out the window. It's not annoyingly loud though anyway. In addition to a really beautiful architecture inside of the building they also offer a safe, dry and easy to access bicycle stand inside of the building where you can leave and store your bikes even for a week. To reach the apartment on the first floor you can use the wide, classical stairway or the easy to access elevator. The apartment itself offers a large entrance room which also offers the large and well suited kitchen (including a modern induction stove, a modern washing machine and a large collection of kitchen stuff, all you need...except a coffee machine unfortunately). The bathroom is clean, modern with a classical touch and there you find a large, comfortable shower too. The living room offers a large, comfortable couch, table, lounge chair, a modern tv (with netflix access) and a single bed back in the corner (if you just want to chill in the afternoon or you cannot use the pretty steep stairs up to regular double bed which is located in kind of a gallery, it's kind of a loft bed). The double bed up there is a pretty comfortable one though. The contact with the owner/host was straightforward and professional. The access to the key for the apartment was easy, by a key box outside of the building like used at many accommodations nowadays. So, overall, a really beautiful place to stay. Thank you.

The location of the main double bed could be a problem for people who cannot go up the pretty steep wooden stair (which by the way is pretty noisy...could wake up your partner if you have to get down during the night or in the morning). However, like mentioned above there is a single bed available downstairs in the living room as well. Another little downside was that the windows in the living room could not be opened completely but just halfway which was not ideal because it was super hot outside and therefore pretty warm in the apartment as well. But there were large, beautiful, classical curtains we could use to keep the heat out a bit. Finally, as the kitchen basically is very well equipped with modern gear and high quality furniture, a coffee machine is one thing which definitely is missing at the end of the day. That´s all no big problems though. It´s still definitely a joy to stay in this apartment.

The location was marvellous

The room was extremely hot and the fans provided circulated air without cooling it. The advice given did not indicate a lift, but said to go up the stairs - we had two heavy suitcases and there are 42 stairs. Advice on collecting keys was inaccurate Several light fittings were inoperable. Stairs to the loft bedroom were creaky and unstable.
