Short stay in Sisteron

Mark was very kind to wait for us to arrive late at night in pouring rain. The accommodation was everything we would expect, well designed with a very nice and quiet garden view out of the window.

A lovely apartment!

This is a very nice apartment - quiet and lovely. I wish we could have stayed for more than one night. The bedroom was big and comfortable, the kitchen was well-equipped and the living room was comfortable. Had a very nice time staying here!

There is one stair leading from the living room and kitchen area to the rest of the apartment. The hosts really try to point it out (they have lights under the stair, and a sign declaring it) but it's easy to forget it's there and trip over it. Perhaps a little ramp should be added.

Nothing to like ...

The location is far from ideal: the local road is terrible, and finding the apartment after dark is a bit of a challenge. To get from the car to the apartment door you’ll need some extra light. But it is only here that the story starts to get interesting. They had not prepared the second bed in advance and only did so after we complained. The landlady was very rude and, when I pointed out that the reservation included a twin bed, she nonchalantly asked me “what is a twin bed for you”—well, definitely not an armchair extended into a makeshift bed. Once we settled in, I began noticing some papers on the walls with text, and things became even more interesting. One of them (see photo) threatened us as guests with an additional 30 € charge if we did not (please note, this was NOT mentioned in the listing at all): “empty and take away the rubbish (of course they told us to take the garbage with us (!) as they do not have outside trash bins (?)), wash, dry and put away the dishes, dishwasher cycle should be finished and dishes dried and put away, clean and wipe down worktops and kitchen table, squeegee the shower and wipe down the taps with anti-limestone products provided, vacuum the whole flat …” Basically, they expect their guests to act as their cleaning staff. The irony is (see the same photo) they also listed what they will do for the guests (!?): “unmaking and changing the bed, floor washing, disinfect the bathroom and kitchen.” After all that, I’m not sure if I booked a holiday apartment or accidentally signed up for an unpaid internship in housekeeping—next time I’ll bring a résumé and ask if there’s a staff discount.

Very clean apartment on the ground floor-it was very private. Parking was secure inside the gate. Lots of info on the local area and a very comprehensive handbook for guests.

Fantastic apartment in a quiet location near Sisteron

We loved our stay in this beautiful apartment. It is very comfortable and spacious with everything you need for a great stay. The private garden with outdoor furniture was lovely. We were made very welcome by the owners. They even did our washing and brought it back to us to hang in our garden. The property is situated in a village a short drive from Sisteron. The village has a boulangerie and restaurants but is quiet and quaint. We would highly recommend this property for anyone wanting to visit this area.

really really nice place! Perfect maintained and very clean! There were everything what you need in apartments. Beautiful small garden with big terrace where you can enjoy a sun for a whole day combined with fantastic views ! Fresh croissant are just in few walk minutes away, there are also two bars and for those who is travelling with children a playground just in 200 meters. Thanks a lot to Anne and Mark for a warm welcome!
