The house is a recent construction with a wooden frame. I wanted it to be ecological, comfortable, and functional. It is located in a natural meadow, surrounded by wild moorlands, grasslands, thyme and lavender fields, and forests with oak trees and pines. It offers absolute calmness. From 600 m of altitude, it dominates the village of Noyers as well as the Jabron River, a torrential river where it is nice to go refreshing in summer. Here, the sun is our loyal friends and it reminds us that we are in Haute Provence, where there are still olive trees and fig trees. The house, which is completely independent, has a total surface of 52 m² and is ideal for 2 people. (It is possible to host a couple with a baby or a young child). There is a big living room with fitted kitchen, a bedroom, and a bathroom with a walk-in shower and an independent toilet. With its impeccable comfort, you will have all the facilities you desire: modern and functional household appliances, television, Wi-Fi access, a living room where you can relax, a workspace and a library to read and relax. Entirely on the ground floor, two big picture windows give you access to a wooden terrace with a pergola where you can have your meals in front of the landscape and rest on deckchairs; unless you prefer the lawn terrace. The meadow that surrounds you as well as the hedgerow of centenary trees will engage you in moments of relaxation or meditation in a hammock or a deckchair. Jabron Valley, originally a land of tradition and culture, will surprise you with its wild and imposing landscapes. You can get to know it in several ways: on foot, by horse, by bicycle. There are many hiking trails and you can take one directly from the house. The region is full of tourist attractions and famous sites. Sisteron of course and its citadel but also Manosque, Forcalquier , the Province of Giono, Gap and Serres Ponçon lake, Sainte Croix lake and the gorges of Verdon, inland of Dignes-les-Bains.

This is the fourth time I have been to La Prairie. I come here mainly to indulge my hobby of astrophotography as the skies are dark and the weather good, but you can't guarantee clear skies at night even in the south of France!
Francoise is very welcoming, helpful and never intrusive. Isis the dog is perhaps the most friendly dog you will ever meet. The view across to the hills is amazing, the gite is clean and comfortable and I am sure I will return again.

A very comfortable gite with a superb view from the terrace. Good walking country with the nearby Vieux Noyers abandoned village very interesting and with good views - plenty of useful information and maps in the gite. Francoise, the owner, was very helpful to us, especially when our luggage was lost by Air France. Thank you for a memorable stay.

We spent a week in this superb Gite and would thoroughly recommend it.
The Gite had a modern, tastefully decorated, clean interior with everything we needed. It also remained cool in the July heat which was a bonus. It was also very useful to be able to park the car right next to the cabin in the shade.
The garden and patio area was superb. Ideal for eating outside and relaxing. The garden was so peaceful and the views over to the mountains stunning.
Francoise was very welcoming and so helpful. We also fell in love with Izzy the dog while we were there. She was charming.
We hope to return one day.

We had a wonderful two weeks, walking in the nearby mountains. Lots of wild flowers, butterflies and birds still singing. A wonderful comfortable base for some walking.

We had an amazing two weeks there, very relaxing, perfect for exploring locally and a little further a field, lots of walks locally or a short drive away. If you want to just sit in the garden and relax listening to the birds and crickets just the place, you can zone right out. Francoise is amazing, gave us tips of where to explore and was a brilliant help allowing us to use her computer to rebook flights etc. when there was a strike at air traffic control, would definitely recommend this property.

This is a beautiful location and Francoise made us very welcome in her lovely gite. The view is to die for and we were surrounded by the sounds of cockoos, cicadas and the bees busing in the rose bushes.

We stayed here for a week's Mountain Biking, we hired a car from Nice Airport as we travelled with our own bikes. The cottage is well equipped with all you require. Spacious and clean, good shower and a fantastic outside patio in a lovely setting. Francoise was helpful and showed us all the facilities and gave us good information - especially the recommendation of great Pizza from the local Boulangerie on a Friday/Saturday night. In the cottage was a map with the Mountain Bike Trails of the Valley of Jabron (also available from the Tourist Office in Sisteron) We rode the red routes which were about 20km. The climbs were usually on good tracks and not too steep, although pushing up was required on a couple! Some great technical descents on good single track - they are waymarked but in some places needs updating as they have faded in the Sun or missing! The area is beautiful and views stunning, topped off with 25c wall to wall sunshine in October! We would recommend this as a destination to come for mountain biking and hope to return one day.

We returned for a second time to this lovely cabin, la gite de la prairie! Again we were warmly received by the owner of the well-tended cabin in
its huge, flowery garden. The place radiates a calm and jet energizing atmosphere. We feel recharged and rested. A heartfelt thank-you! Toni and Franziska

I had a fantastic 4 days staying in Francoise cottage. Francoise was very welcoming and hospitable throughout. I went with the purpose of photographing the stars under the night sky and I was not disappointed as the nights were clear and the view spectacular.
The cottage has everything you need and a comfortable bed. If you want to relax and get away from it all this is definitely the place to stay for solo travellers or couples.
