Aylworth Manor

Aylworth Manor is simply one of the most beautiful places you can stay in. The historic estate is beautifully maintained and guests are warmly welcomed by gracious hosts. It is a rare treat these days to enjoy the kind of hospitality that the owners provide. The facilities are just delightful - from the stately bedrooms and classic dining room to the expansive grounds, guests can truly enjoy the country lifestyle that one associates with this part of England but rarely has the chance to experience. The location is close enough, but also far enough from the bustle of nearby villages to give guests the space to truly enjoy the rural serenity and engage in sightseeing on your own terms.

No dislikes - it was the perfect stay for us.

Authentic old country residence. Nice quiet location but still close enough to popular Cotswold villages. Able to open the windows to enjoy fresh air and views.

I would’ve liked a shower.

The location was excellent. The grounds, gardens and manor house were very imposing. There was plenty of parking. Driving down the driveway past the saddle stones presented a feeling of grandeur. The host, John greeted us on arrival with drinks and cake. John was was a very warm, friendly chap. Our room was very spacious with an imposing view over the countryside. The grand staircase was very wide, which was important to us as we had a large suitcase to carry up. The dining room was equipped with a large dinning table which encouraged conversation with other guests. Breakfast was well cooked and the breakfast was more than adequate for both of us. Bath robes were supplied.

The bathroom was private, however we did have to walk across a public landing to access it. The young lady taking our breakfast order was very enthusiastic. It would have been nice to sit down first before asking for our order. However I should point out this is a very minor point. The towels and bath robes were very coarse however, not a big issue.

It was absolutely stunning - the home and gardens! Good breakfast. Giant room- lots of space.

The beds were very uncomfortable. You could feel every spring in the mattress. We had to use the duvet as mattress topper. The owners didn't exude hospitality and warmth though their staff were great. It was a heat wave and although unexpected, a fan would have been incredibly valuable as the curtains were left open and the sun baked the room all day. There was no shower, which was ok- but adding an attachment to help wash hair in the bath would be very helpful.
