The host was wonderful and the breakfasts were delicious.

A lovely guest house with a very friendly owner, who prepared a great breakfast everyday. Also the terrace is very nice to hang out during the day. There is free water and a fridge available for shared use.

If you want to stay in a large soulless hotel Casa Dona Carmela is probably not for you. However if you want to stay in a small warm quirky hotel then it is for you. The included breakfast was fantastic. The rooms are small, but clean and a bit offbeat. They had everything you needed. There were additional facilities in the communal areas such as tea, coffee making equipment etc. Amos, the proprietor also provides an honesty bar containing soft drinks and some beer. He will also give you advice on things to see in the city. The location is great for the tram line which is the best way to travel round Santa Cruz. Most of the cities cultural attractions are less than a 30 minute walk from the Casa. We would return.

Good cleaning and breakfast

I didn’t sleep well all the week of holiday, it was too small bed for 2 people and very noisy street window view, it was impossible to sleep from 5 am, as there were lots of persons with dogs barking and parking their car on the street from 5 to 7 am
