Ocean City, New Jersey is a world famous seashore community located in the heart of the Jersey Shore. At the northern tip of Cape May County, it is perfectly situated for a vacation; just 20 minutes from Atlantic City, 60 minutes from Philadelphia, and two hours from New York City.

It's all good! The beach has opportunities for swimming, surfing, boating, fishing, para sailing and more. The bay offers boating, jet ski, kayak, paddle boarding and fishing of all kinds. However, away from the more crowded venues there are many other kinds of enjoyment, many based on the environmental resources of the island, which do not receive the same kind of publicity.

The flavor is a cross between seashore casual and Philadelphia, and it is uniquely Ocean City. The light side of culture is also well represented in the fun-filled activities that are sponsored by the city for the benefit of visitors and residents alike. The Martin Z. Mollusk day and Miss Crustacean Contest, to the decorated boat parade on the bay in July known as Night in Venice, the Baby Parade in August and First Night Celebration and beautiful fireworks over the ocean on New Year’s Eve, with a large number of events in between, the city has made a concerted effort to welcome and entertain folks.

Most of these events are held at Ocean City's Historic and beautiful Music Pier for info and events see www.ocnj.us

The History!: The Ocean City Tabernacle was built between Wesley and Asbury Avenues and between 5th and 6th Streets. Camp Meetings were held by the following summer. In 1879, four Methodist ministers, Ezra B. Lake, James Lake, S. Wesley Lake and William Burrell chose the island as a suitable spot to establish a Christian retreat and camp meeting on the order of Ocean Grove. They met under a tall cedar tree, which stands today in the Lobby of the Ocean City Tabernacle. Having chosen the name Ocean City, the founders incorporated the Ocean City Association, laid out street and lots for cottages, hotel and businesses.

Great location and neighborhood. Boardwalk was just a short walk away. Space was small but it was okay for us. Happy to have a pet friendly place to stay. Host was great and responded to my questions in a timely manner. We always love our time in Ocean City.

The place was very nice! We loved our stay. The host provided everything you needed! It was clean and cozy. Loved having washer/ dryer on site. The AC felt great after a hot day at the beach! The kitchen was great to entertain. We grilled a lot and the porch was nice to hang out and relax. The location was excellent. You could walk/ bike everywhere! Great stores for shopping and restaurants just down the street. The beach / boardwalk were in close proximity. We brought our small dog and it was so convenient to have the tabernacle right across the street to walk her. The host was very accommodating and easy to get in touch with! Definitely recommend this place and look forward to coming back!
