A great place to stay in Hamburg

Staff was super helpful. If you like to sleep a little late there was very good soundproofing between the rooms. A cosy little place. I would stay there again

Good location but noisy and uncomfortable.

Close to the lake and reasonably priced for Hamburg.

Noisy location outside (multiple church bells, bin lorries early in the morning and staff from a local business sat drinking outside until the early hours) and staff were also noisy inside the property early in the morning. No air-conditioning and no fan available to borrow, so we had to have the window open, despite the noise outside. Beds were rock hard and pillows were super-thin. Shower screen was covered in thick soap-scum. Horrible smell in the stairwell.

I had a small room which you can see was part of larger room before. The room door and wall is not soundproof and you can hear even words said in the next room.

Overall good but rude cleaning staff

Good location, very friendly reception, extremely clean even though bathroom and toilets are shared.

The official check out time is 11:00, but the cleaning lady knocked and asked if she could clean the room before 10:30. When I told her I will check out at 11:00 she started to show an attitude and made really loud noise slamming the doors aggressively. If the cleaning staff want to have her work done before the official check out time maybe she should suggest to the hotel to make the check out time differently???

The possibility not to do a check-in of the luggage outside the opening times. But the lady was kind of helpful but still it’s not specified. Plus no washing foam nor shampoo is provided to have a shower…

I missed being able to have hot water. There is only one toilet for 8 rooms. And at night the shower in the room started dripping (after I heard other people coming back and using the water). Luckily it stopped after. And also no extra pillows.

Location is everything for this hotel. The beds are good and the bathrooms clean.

Don't expect anything from this hotel, other than a room with a bed and a place to put your clothes. It is very light in the night since the curtains are thin and white. We waited a long time at check in, even through we did the online check in from home. Luckily we were the only ones checking in. Please don't get fooled by the names of the rooms. None of then contains a private bathroom. We had both types, and there are very few differences to them. The cheapest had a sink in the room, but the toilet was in a separate room from the sink and the shower (common in old buildings).

Basic, spacious and centric

Quite basic, but clean and spacious room in a very centric location. Just what we (familiy of 4) on interrail needed for one reasonably priced night in Hamburg.

A bit noisy at night, but that's to expect in the middle of the city. Beware of very steep stairs up one floor to enter the reception.

the location is perfect, right close to the majestic city hall ( Rathausplatz) and many other attractions. the staff were very helpful.

for the price I payed it could have been an entire toilet inside the room, not only shower.

no elevator but a long and relevently narrow staircase. someone with a large suitcase, baby carrier, or wheelchair might find it an issue. there is a weird storage space locked up behind a half-tall plastic curtain inside our room which makes us feel slightly uncomfortable to look at in the middle of the night.

The over 80 stairs to get to my slanted wall room were really invigorating at my age of over 68 years old. Woman was nice.

Perfect location for visiting the old town.

The location could not be better! The price is reasonable for the area. The room is comfortable enough for a few nights, but the pillows are dreadful (fluff and stuff - nothing to them).

The single toilet and shower for 5 rooms on the one floor is not really adequate. As I said the pillows are rubbish and the windows do not seal so they let the cold air in, which increases heating costs.
