The surrounds: After the tourist crush in Amalfi etc., this area is a very pleasant and peaceful contrast. Yet, from Cetara, the neighbouring town, a scenic ferry boat can be taken to Amalfi and any of the coastal towns as well as to Capri. The villa is set in the forested hills and there are fantastic hikes behind it, easily accessible from the villa - see mapy.com for paths. Cetara was pronounced 'the most charming Italian town I have seen', by my husband. Many excellent restaurants that the villa owner will tell you about, and good shops for cooking at home. We enjoyed a beach that was to the West of the harbour, just keep walking past the boats to reach it. Cetara is famous for its seafood and anchovies. The property: This property offers the bottom half of a villa, with two bedrooms and a bathroom, a large and well-equipped kitchen, a very large and attractively furnished dining and sitting room, and an entrance hall. The huge bonus is a massive terrace with outdoor dining and cooking facilities, and a gorgeous view of the hillsides and the beach below. There is a swimming pool which the owner said we could use. The owner is a lovely man who was endlessly helpful. The beach: A virtually private cove is easily accessible through a locked gate. Transport: We took the train (cheap and fast) from Naples to Salerno. Then the local bus directly from the station that runs to Amalfi, and should stop near Erchie, close to the property's gates. Make sure you *agree* with the driver to *stop* at the correct stop (show him on google maps). We walked to Cetara, the neighbouring town,on the road in the day (quick and scenic). But were also able to use a cheap local taxi to/from this town: 00 39 380 2479040 (takes 6 minutes). We got a taxi back to Naples using this excellent service: Pietro Lupo 00 39 333 7656109 (he answers in text on Whatsapp). Returning from Amalfi we used the local bus - sit on the rhs to see staggeringly beautiful scenery.
We did not like the noisy motorbikes. If you are there on a Sunday, make this your Capri or Amalfi day. The beds are firm, but we found them comfortable. Bring some sticky tape to paper over the glass centre of the doors if the light bothers you. I used one of the maps and this worked well.

I won't repeat all the great things that other reviewers have written, but I'll endorse them 100%. The size of the property, the well-equipped kitchen, the general comfort levels, the exceptional pool, private beach access, the views, the charming host. A beautiful base from which to explore the Amalfi Coast
Only small points, but worth noting: The small village of Erchie, which offers the nearest restaurants / bars and a small grocery shop / mini-market, is easily enough reached on foot if you're OK with slopes and steps (this is Amalfi after all). And the views on the way are stunning. There is a local taxi service and bus route, but to easily get any further afield (including Cetara), you are better off with your own transport. The wifi signal does not cover the whole property and, at best, is sufficient, but not strong. Likewise, the phone network coverage is patchy and there are blackspots in the house and the grounds. Once you know where there is signal, however, it is manageable. The bathroom / toilet door has a large frosted glass panel that leaves little to the imagination when the light is on. If you're travelling with people that you don't know well, this might take a bit of getting used to!

Silvio was so attentive, helpful, and welcoming we felt right at home. He took all the time we needed to have an amazing and unforgettable stay. Helped us with referrals for reataurants and an amazing boat ride. If you're thinking of visiting the Amalfi Coast then this is a definite must stay location!
Absolutely nothing not like!!
