Red River Stables - Peaceful, beautiful grounds, swimming pool, central location for West Cornwall

It was a lovely, cosy house in a beautiful and peaceful setting. The pool was a really nice addition, and the hosts were so lovely and welcoming. The location was great too, making it easy to explore the area.

Nothing major, we really enjoyed our stay.

• Beautiful stable building and location • Access to the garden and pool is a really lovely touch • Very quiet and relaxed • Well stocked with essential items such as cooking equipment and utensils along with thoughtful touches like a clothes drying rack, dishwasher tablets, coffee pods and an extensive Cornwall guide put together by the owners • Plentiful parking with EV charging • Great road links

• Dirty and sticky floor making our feet black. We resorted to keeping a dedicated pair of dark socks each to wear inside. • Problems with hot water, one evening we had to have completely cold showers after the beach. • Lack of a comfy place to sit and relax. We were confined to sitting on the bed which reduced the function of the accommodation to feel like a hotel style room with an additional kitchen area. The sofa is particularly small, uncomfortable and sunken in the middle (different to the one shown in the photos). The dinning chairs are tough with a rough woven surface which starts to dig in and hurt. • The table was narrow with horizontal bars between the legs leaving no room to tuck under, we awkwardly sat sideways when eating. • Hob controls crash making cooking difficult, you have to leave it a while before it will reset and turn back on again.
