The Station Masters Lodge

I enjoyed staying at Station masters lodge. Ian and Karen were brilliant hosts. Very helpful. Any questions we had they were more than happy to answer, Ideas on places and attractions to visit. We however did encounter a problem with our car part way through the holiday. We were stranded about 10 minuites away from the house. And karen kindly offered to collect my girlfreind and bought her back to the lodge while I sorted getting the car back which was above and beyond what you would expect from a host. Ian was also very kind to help take me to a supermarket to grab some food. Since we had no working car. Ian lent me a battery charger to charge my battery over night, Which also was very kind of him. And drop us a a nearby hotel when our stay came to a end. I would definitely come back here to station masters lodge. Already planning that stay for next year. The views from the terrace were lovely. Place was nice and clean, sofa was very comfortable. Also the bed too. A massive thank you Ian & Karen. Also honey the dog. We Will be back next year withought a doubt. The was nothing I can think of whatsoever.

It was very comfortable and cosy. There were a lot of nice touches like having coffee and a machine to use and fresh milk in the fridge. It was also dog friendly and our dog settled in here very easily. The hosts were very friendly and welcoming and when we said we were from Cambridgeshire we woke up to a Cambridgeshire flag flying in the garden! We also loved that there was a fenced off area attached to the building where we could let the dog out without worry about him wandering off. Would definitely stay again.

If I was to be hypercritical, we thought the property looked detached and secluded from the photos but upon arrival realised it was attached to the owners house. As a pair of introverts this scared us a bit but we very quickly forgot about this and it felt plenty private enough. We wouldn’t have known it was attached once we got settled in and wasn’t disturbed at all by the hosts.

Very friendly host, great location, clean, warm and very convenient for the dogs.

The only criticism would be that the cutlery was very basic compared to everything else provided. A hairdryer would have been a fab extra.

the idea of the place. the outside space to sit in good weather. however, very tired, in need of a lot of Love & attention. weeds growing across decking. plants taking over the area, blocking any light of sunshine & view. size not too big, cosy.

The place was dirty. dead flies in longs and bedroom, obviously not been hoovered or swept before letting. plants/weeds over grown not kept nice. damp smell in bathroom & bedroom. can opener did not work. owner replaced with a dirty old one. tea towels still attached to each other therefore not pre washed. towels looked liked the owners throw outs. Dining table unstable. chest of drawers broken could not use 2. drawers. whole place needs cleaning & decorating. old & tired. more photos to add!!
