We had a fantastic and comfortable stay at Pelwehera Home Stay. The room we stayed was clean and spacious with hot water and AC for a very reasonable price. The host, Anusha, was so lovely and helpful; she cooked us some amazing vegetarian dinners with her own locally grown produce, as well as giving us a tour of her plant nursery nearby. She even assisted us with booking our elephant safari. The location is also good as it has bus links to both Sigiriya and Dambula. If you would like to get a taste of Sri Lanka outside of the major towns and cities, I would absolutely recommend staying here!

We like the place very much, it is out of the city though reasonable close to Dambulla center to get there easily. Close to Sigiriya, too. The owner is very nice, providing us plentiful and tasty breakfests & dinners. Recommended.
