The Ota House is perfect for families looking for a central location to stay while they explore Kauai! The house is very family friendly and located in a quiet neighborhood near the Princeville Makai Golf Course. It's only a 20 minute walk to the Princeville Shopping Center with a grocery store and deli, many shops, banks, a gas station, a public library and a variety of restaurants. There are beautiful mountain and waterfall views from this economical home in a world-class location. This 2 bedroom, one and a half bath home comes with a fully equipped kitchen, full sized washer/dryer, and an enclosed garage.
Amenities include a Weber charcoal grill, and a Flat screen TV. There is a large backyard perfect for your children to play with stunning views of the mountain range. Featuring a queen in the main bedroom, and a guest bedroom with 2 twin beds-this home sleeps 4.

The property checked all the important boxes for me - reasonable price, clean, comfortable mattresses, charcoal grill, well stocked kitchen. It's close to lots of great snorkeling, beautiful tropical plants in the backyard with chickens roaming around and tiny cute lizards often hanging out on the window-sills. Woke up every morning to a nice breeze blowing through the house and the sounds of insects and birds. Hideaway beach is only a 20 minute walk and it is incredible. We saw more coral, fish and turtles there than we did at Anini, Ke'e or tunnels. It isn't crowded since there are only 6 parking spaces and the access is pretty tricky, down a steep path that is not well maintained and quite slippy in places. I would definitely come back here.

Don’t bother booking this place… I’m going to buy it and live in it forever and ever! I hope they bury my bones in the backyard so I can listen to the birds singing each morning, enjoy the amazing views of the mountains in the day, and gaze at a star-filled sky during the night.This home is exactly that… a home and not a house. It provides all the simple necessities, nothing too fancy getting in the way of enjoying a good night’s sleep so you can have more quality time with loved ones! E le’a mai!

This home is in a great location with grocery store and many activities (parks, restaurants, etc.) The yard is well kept and beautiful plants surround. The house is in a neghborhood so some dog barking, etc. The blinds in the bedrooms are missing. Overall, we enjoyed the stay.

We loved our stay at this comfortable home. It’s located in a lovely residential area with views of the mountains and waterfalls. We loved waking up to birdsong and colorful skies. We made meals everyday with no issues. If you like to grind your coffee beans like we do, you’ll need to go by the local Ace Hardware and pick up a grinder-that’s the only thing this home didn’t provide. Plenty of beach towels, coolers, and boogie boards were appreciated. You cannot go wrong choosing Ota House for your vacation!!

We enjoyed our stay here. The location of the home was in a really nice quite neighborhood. We loved the views and beautiful backyard. House is outdated but pretty clean. It could have had more of a detail cleaning job. Seems like they do a quick surface clean. Some of the lights would work and then not. One of the fans was broken and with no ac it would have been nice to have it working. Overall it was a good place to stay and the property management had wonderful customer service.

Starting with the good things, the location is great. It’s in a good neighborhood and beautiful. I appreciated the chairs, boogie boards, washer, dryer, television, and a great backyard. What could be improved to make the stay nicer; first of all the cleaning person has to use bleach on the towels and sheets and mattress cover especially. We had to take all of the towels and sheets and pillow covers off and purchase some bleach as the mold was Bad and so smelly when you went to sleep. When we took the pillow covers off of the pillows, the pillows were quite stained . Having the cleaning people do a better job on mold, abatement. The other thing that would be very helpful is a propane driven barbecue. Having to go out and purchase charcoal for $14 to cook steaks is not something you expect. There was only one beach towel and even after bleaching the bath towels there were some stains. Best thing to do would be to, refresh the towels now and then and have some other beach towels. The other thing that people should know is that the two rooms that are available in this house are connected to a singular bathroom. There is another half bathroom that is near one of the rooms that can be used as the second bathroom. Neither of the rooms are Masters just so people know. That means there’s just one shower. I do think that the house was reasonably priced and maybe you don’t expect much when it’s that way, but you should know that going in. The house feels a bit like a college rental where you worry the youngsters can beat up the stuff so you don’t get good stuff around the house.

Did not seem like anyone had really taken care of the property. It is older and worn out. Kitchen and bathrooms are in need of updating. The fans did not work it was pretty hot., which is difficult with a baby and a toddler. There were no real amenities other than beach chairs. Rented it for my family over flow and they were not happy there.

Overall very nice, it was just my wife and I for our honeymoon and therefor was perfect, way better then a hotel. The view from the lanai was wonderful and our favorite part of the house was the flora and fauna in the backyard. One thing that wasn't mentioned is that there is no climate control, no heat or cooling, you have to use the constant breeze to stay cool so if you need AC this isn't the place for you. If you need heat, grab a light blanket it's not that cold.

Great neighborhood for relaxing walks. The backyard is great for stargazing on clear nights. Close to sunset views on nearby golf course. Loved listening to the waves crash at night. Everything was adequate, not a fancy house but had everything we needed to be comfortable. The living room windows make the room feel open and expansive.

Nearness to amazing activities and locations make this a nice place to stay. Many items in the house need attention: the Teflon frying pans are old and no longer function, the bbq grill is coming apart, numerous plates had chips, one glass had a hair line crack , poor TV service during rain. Nice backyard.

The kitchen is a little sparse so you will need to keep any vacation cooking very minimalist. The home is very convenient to all north shore attractions - strongly recommend Pt. Kilauea Lighthouse for bird watching. It's a long drive (but worth a day trip) to the shouth shore and Weimea Canyon. Overall this was convenient, comfortable, and relaxing. I
