La Casa de la Costurera

Everything was great. The best neighbourhood to stay in and overall a great and lovely place to stay. Host was very friendly and helpful. Great for one night and especially longer stays. We wish we had more days in this great space.

Location was excellent. Property was beautifully presented and very clean.

The kitchen was sparsely equipped. Reception at the property was not very welcoming. On leaving we were treated in an off-hand and abrupt manner by the owner’s daughter

The place is adorable. it has a lovely courtyard/patio and is small so has a more homely local feel than a hotel. The street it is on, is quiet and is well located for walking to the main sites. In summer is would be wonderful to have a coffee in the patio in the morning (we were there in winter). Probably best for a single person (at least for the size of bed we had).

Check in was a bit frustrating. Owners expect that you will have ability to phone them when you arrive versus meeting you at a time. I had informed them of our arrival time and the day before I received a text with nothing but a phone number. When I inquired (this is after notifying them of arrival time), they said I should call when I was there. I did not have a local cell phone and asked just to meet at the time I indicated I would arrive. This clearly put them out and they were not happy about that. When we arrived we were met at the door, which went smoothly and was easy. The person meeting us spent the first five minutes on the phone talking to someone before checking us in. She was very pleasant once she got off the phone. the room was adorable and very well appointed. Clearly well cared for and they are proud of how things look and are maintained, which I would say is a big bonus. Unfortunately the bed was very very very soft and small. Think it was smaller than a US full. It also was so soft that if you are a couple and someone weighs a bit more, the bed will lean toward them so all night I was clawing my way uphill. Also one long large pillow for both (basically a body pillow), which was challenging (for us at least). Anyway, don't want to be totally negative about this place as it was very quaint, rooms well appointed and patio lovely. Just didn't turn out to be the best place for us due to the above reasons.
