From the 11 year old - Big house, great for hide and seek
From the adults - Beautiful property, everything we needed for a lovely family get together. Definitely will come back in summer to enjoy the Riverside garden
Not a complaint but one of the double beds (main room) could do with some tightening, it's quite squeaky. However did not ruin stay in anyway

Very homely. Everything you needed home from home and a lovely welcome basket.
Warm. Log burner. Towels provided.
Perfect for our Friday to Sunday visit to Alton Towers.
The agar. We cooked a meal on the Friday eve but ended up cooking garlic bread in the air fryer. And cutting up the kids pizzas and cooking in the air fryer too. Which wasn’t the end of the world just so used of having an oven. So bear in mind if you’re out all day then wish to cook anything in the over.

Had everything you need for a family vacation. Kitchen fully equipped.
Green area well maintained.
Felt claustrophobic. If you’re over 6ft, you will definitely bang your head once, or twice , while walking out of the room.
Smell was almost sickening.
It is an old house - but didn’t expect it to be so outdated.
If you like the vibe - perfect for you.
Outdoor furniture needs updating - wood rotten and wobbly.
Quite isolated- can’t even go for a walk - busy road next to it.
Also very hot due to kitchen cooker being on 24/7.

What a lovely cottage. Absolutely beautiful. We loved our stay. Kids/dogs and adults all loved our break. The highlight was the small river in the garden. Kids and dogs all padddled! Facilities were excellent. Beds and bedrooms were comfy and spacious. Dining area nice. Kitchen was good. And the living room and large conservatory were very comfortable and cosy. It was hot when we stayed but I can only imagine how nice they would have been with the log burner on. The welcome basket was a lovely touch.
The aga oven takes 2-3 hours to warm up if you want to cook in it. But the air fryer more than makes up for that. And if you are a light sleeper then take ear plugs as it’s a very old cottage so the floors creak! But that’s expected with old buildings and it didn’t bother any of us.

The oven took a while to heat up

We had a lovely stay at the cottage. The location was great, and the place itself was cosy and welcoming. We especially enjoyed the downstairs bath and the charming extension filled with fun board games and thoughtful extras. Communication was excellent throughout, and there were plenty of towels provided, which was a nice touch
We were slightly disappointed that the oven wasn’t working, though fortunately there was an air fryer available which helped and the host was available to try and assist. There were quite a few cobwebs around, and some of the outdoor areas could use a bit of TLC to bring them up to the same standard as the rest of the cottage

The cottage is fantastic. Very spacious and very well equipped. Lots of room for families. The setting is just perfect.
Only a little thing - bath mat needed for upstairs bath/shower as it was very slippy.

Exactly how it was described, lovely
Cottage with everything you would need
One of the mattresses a little uncomfortable in the smaller room. May need changing but didn’t stop us having a fantastic stay

Great location next to a river. Easy to get to Bakewell and do the steam train ride. Enough space for us all (5 adults and 2 kids). The hamper on arrival was a nice touch.

Lovely size huge dining room and great kitchen . Perfect outside area with bbq. Liked that it was dog friendly with space for dog to run next to cottage. River just across drive
Liked location in peak district.
Welcome goodies
Peak wildlife very close
Not keen on showers but they were adequate and there is a lovely jacuzzi bath although we didn't use it.
Not keen on the main road at end of drive visibility to turn onto road it not great. But it does mean cottage is Well located for peak attractions.
Would have liked to start walks at cottage but walking at all on main road to get to footpath not really possible. However lotsof good walks a short drive to car parks away.

A charming cottage in a beautiful location. Plenty of room for our large family, a great garden, with a stream perfect for paddling in. We were very lucky with the weather, so were able to do a couple of BBQs. Well situated for our trips to Dovedale, Buxton, Speedwell caverns and Alton Towers. The host was helpful, and responded swiftly to any of my questions. A lovely few days.
