Thambara Villa Unawatuna

An extraordinary accommodation! From the entrance to the courtyard, we realized that it was a special building, like a mansion, with a special architecture. Both the house and the garden were very well maintained, with trees and flowers, the most well-kept garden in Sri Lanka out of the 8 accommodations. The owner, a special gentleman, attentive to every detail, did everything to make us feel good. At this accommodation, we saw peacocks, squirrels, monkeys and many kinds of birds. It was a joy! I sat on the veranda for hours and watched the squirrels play, how brightly colored birds come. A big plus was the kitchen equipped with everything you need. The double living room, just like in a boyar's house. We had hot water all the time, as well as drinking water at our discretion. The pool was cleaned daily. By Tuk Tuk to Unawatuna Beach cost 240 rupees, not a dollar. And to Gale Fort 2.5 dollars. The building is located on an alley away from the noise of the main road. I would come back anytime!

The villa is beautiful, so peaceful and quiet. The pool is so refreshing, comfy beds good ac. Great location and there are nice walks to jungle beach and close to cafe and restaurants. Well stocked kitchen and the garden is so beautiful, also we were the only guests so we had the place to ourselves for a unbelievable price, I throughly recommend staying here we were sad to leave.

The only thing I didn't like was that all the doors drag against the floor or door frames. which makes a horrible noise and sometimes difficult to open, could be easily fixed just by trimming a few cm of the bottom of each door. Apart from that, the place is amazing.

Todo absolutamente precioso, nuestro mejor alojamiento en toda Sri Lanka, nosotros tuvimos toda la villa a nuestra disposición sin otros huéspedes, con cocina totalmente equipada, un jardín y piscina espectaculares, super cuidado y limpio, el aire acondicionado funciona perfectamente, baño espacioso y con amenities algo que no encuentras en ningún otro alojamiento en el país. El anfitrión fue increíblemente amable y nos ayudó con todo lo que le pedimos.
