I stayed here for 4 nights and would not recommend this hotel for a long stay, a short stay is bearable.
The staff in the bar were sooo kind! One of the only positives.
My room and bathroom was filled with a very strong damp smell! Even after opening the windows for hours every day whilst out, the smell unfortunately did not fade.
The dust in the room is terrible! Covering the windows, fan, and in certain areas like the corners of the room, there was layers of dust on the carpet! As someone who has asthma, it was not very fun. In the nicest way possible, I’m honestly not too sure what the cleaners are being paid to do.
The basic facilities (ie. handsoap) was barely even soap, I’d consider it water with a hint of soap - somewhat scented water.
However, the other basic facilities, like the kettle, iron and ironing board were in good condition.

I would recommend the Red Lion.
It's an old hotel, but the price is reasonable and the staff are nice.

The room was very small with toilet and shower. Bedding clean but the plug sockets didn't work, so could not use kettle or phone recharger. Room was very hot with only a small window for fresh air. Breakfast menu said it was served between 07.30am and 11am. But they don't do breakfast that early, not until 11am. So we had to seek alternative, the only place in the vicinity was a McDonald's. Only one other pub in the area which was next door to the red lion. Will not be staying there again.
