A nice enough stay with some caveats

It's a bit unfair to judge our intended 7 day stay because we had to leave after 1 night for a family emergency however the pluses were: The owner met us at the door with the keys and gave us a tour of the apartment. Access was easy and with 2 different sets of keys each couple was able to leave and enter independently. Other than the front room which we found curiously arranged with the couch next to rather than opposite the TV the ground floor was lovely. The cold ad rain prevented us from using the nice outdoor terrace but the back enclosed eating/sitting area was spacious and bright. The kitchen was well appointed and stocked. The market was about a 15 minute walk away and had the basics that we needed. There is a separate area where alcohol is available. The sink in each bedroom was very nice and the bed was comfortable for us. Not too soft but not too firm. A toilet on the ground floor eliminated the need to climb the stairs when needed during the day. The owner provides instructions for most things in multiple languages and several guide books and maps which was helpful. Transportation is nearby. Overall we felt it would be a good choice for young active people, perhaps with bicycles that can be safelt left in the terrace especially during warm weather when the beach is an attraction. It is not however a seaside stay nor are the views of the sea.

The first that comes to mind are the stairs. As others have noted they are STEEP. We are all in our 70s and though active, using the stairs during the night felt a bit treacherous. Since the bedroom doors had windows above them, the hall light shown into them so we could not leave it on. We simply left the bathroom light on so the 2nd floor couple could descend with a bit of light. The other is the parking situation. It is expensive unless you drive to a distant area of town and return by bus. (Had we stayed the intended week this is what we would have done so time is really the only consideration.) We were able to find a spot in an area down the street from the apartment where parking was not limited to 2 hours (between 10:00 and 24:00 parking must be paid for) and were able to leave the car there overnight. This worked to our benefit as we had to leave early the next morning and a 1 hour round trip to get the car would have been frustrating. Although advertised as near the beach, and the photos and name give the impression that it is very close, it was a good 20 minute walk. The view from our rooms was of the houses across the street. The living room had enough seating but the TV was located at the end of the couch along the same wall. It was not easy to view although we did not watch much.

Sehr großes, gut gelegenes Appartement über 3 Etagen

Das Appartement ist extrem groß. Das Esszimmer ist vom Wohnzimmer getrennt und beide Schlafzimmer sind extrem komfortabel und haben ein Waschbecken im Zimmer. Küche ist gut ausgestattet. Man ist schnell am Strand oder auch in der Innenstadt von Den Haag, besonders mit Fahrrädern. Der Kontakt mit den Vermietern per WhatsApp und bei Rückgabe der Schlüssel war super nett.

Die Treppen im Appartement sind sehr steil. Für uns war das kein Problem, aber mit sehr kleinen Kindern oder für Personen, die nicht so gut zu Fuß sind, kann das schwierig werden. Die Badezimmer sind klein, aber durch die Waschbecken in den Schlafzimmern kann man sich verteilen. Und eine Besonderheit, die aber auf ganz Scheveningen zutrifft: Man kann nur in bestimmten Bereichen länger als 2h Parken. Zudem muss man überall Partickets ziehen. Mit der App und dem Parkplatz am Hafen lässt sich das aber managen. Direkt am Appartement kann man aber zum Be- und Entladen direkt vor der Tür stehen.

Het was een appartement, er waren goede kookvoorzieningen. Ook stond er een fles wijn een een pakje stroopwafeltjes voor ons klaar.

Aufenthalt in Holland ist sicher anders als in Deutschland, aber für 1 Woche alles gut.

Besonders schöner Strand für unsere Jungs.

Parkgebühren, war schon bissl blöd 5km woanders kostenlos parken zu müssen.
