Balmungo Cottage B&B

Location was spot on, with a great vista over St Andrews. Norma and Alan were perfect hosts and catered for our every needs. Breakfasts were superb, with a focus on local ingredients. The separate lounge area worked well for us. We had a perfect break!

Balmungo Cottage was absolute perfection. Across our 3 week travels around the UK, this was one of our favourite bed and breakfasts. The setting is just stunning with a beautiful garden overlooking the rolling hills of the countryside. The room is incredibly spacious, the largest one we’ve had on our entire trip. The bed is a large king with high quality linens and pillows for the perfect nights rest. There are no other guests so it’s very quiet and peaceful. The best part of the stay is surely the hosts, Norma and Alan. We were greeted with such warmth, we felt like we were family members coming home. Norma made us an excellent breakfast which was also our favourite from our trip. We felt quite spoiled with the selection of fresh fruits with our yogurt, honey directly from their garden and full English breakfast. Our only lament is that we couldn’t stay longer. We highly recommend Balmungo Cottage for your visit to St Andrews and we will be sure to return!

Large selection of food eg homemade jams. Good selection of cereals and fresh fruit. All served with a view of the garden. Personally served.

The house was so beautiful with attention to detail every where you looked. The bedding was super comfy and the living room sofas were too. The views of the garden and the countryside towards St Andrews was something you would never tire of. A true gem and only a 5 minute drive away from the town centre. The breakfast was also delicious, plentiful and full of home made products which added to the experience!
