Would score 10 if it wasn't for the smell

The lady who met us was lovely. The rooms was clean, spare towels, toilet rolls, fresh water and tea/coffee making facilties in tbe room. Fride in the hall and a microwave. Also hair dryers and more spare towels. Slept like a log on in the bed! The view of valentia island from the bedroom window was gorgeous.

There was a smell from the bathroom pipes that had filled the whole room when we walked in. It was like stagnant water or something rotten in the pipes. This was the only bad thing about the place but it was VERY bad.

Nice room and great communication with the host for our short stay.

Room was ideal for a short stay (we only stayed one night here). The accommodation is a little way out of town (which is clearly stated in the details before booking). The town has several nice restaurants and is walkable from the accommodation (about 2km), however, the road is mostly unlit and the speed limit for most of the route is 100km/h, so consider taking torches and high vis clothing if you are intending to walk back after sunset. Great communication with Paula before and during our stay.

The bed was a little hard for our liking (but I guess that's quite subjective)

Lovely accommodation, hospitality needs a little ironing out.

The bed was comfortable, the room was lovely, clean and warm and the house was quiet. The location was wonderful, with scenic views to the front of the property overlooking water and mountains.

The amount of instructions that I received from the property via messaging on Booking.com, and the abrupt tone of the messaging made me feel anxious about my arrival and what I would be met with. I was very pleasantly surprised by how nice the property was but I would recommend reviewing the altering of communication style and content made with guests. E.g., 'We are 2km on the outskirts of Portmagee. If you want to stay in the village, please book a place in the village'. There is a nice way to say that.

Good location even though not in centre this didn’t matter. Good view from the bedroom towards the bridge and sea. Very clean and great shower and tea coffee etc. very good value for money. Good communication with hosts prior to arrival.

The mattress was comfy but the bed was a little squeaky. Probably just needs tightening up a bit. Really would struggle to find fault the accommodation has been well thought out.

Bed is too rickety, and I had to put a pillow between headboard and wall to keep it stable. The toilet seat is loose.mirror in the bathroom is too small and hung too high.

Brilliant stay after a day on the bikes, the jacuzzi and sauna topped it off

The 25 euro per booking on the sauna and jacuzzi was well worth it. The host was very helpful and provided us with a return taxi to the local pub.

Disappointed

It is close to the little town with a great seafood restaurant and the port and close to Cliffs of Moher.

1) we were not advised that there was no water upon check in. It took 4 attempts and over 3 hrs to get water service restored. Was told it was due to power failure and would be restored soon, only to finally find it was a trip switch that was never engaged...once the trip switch was found disengaged, the water was restored quickly. They did apologize but it was frustrating to have to keep inquiring, especially after a 2nd text went completely unanswered and had to go back to the ring doorbell to speak to someone... 2) toilet seat was hanging on by its last thread so had to be very careful when using it. 3) bed rocked back and forth so much, we were afraid it would break. We stuffed a pillow behind the headboard so it wouldn't rock anymore 4) the brown cover on top of the duvet was very dirty with several stains and hair 5) rented rm # 2 for "sea view" which is only viewable from the far left side barstool at the door.

Basic accommodation and ok for out short stay.

Plenty of parking. Reasonable size room - had a microwave and fridge which was useful. The view from the front over the river were lovely.

Whilst it was basically good it gives the impression of works in progress. Little things like towel rail , proper curtains and location of power point for kettle in a suitable position need sorting. With a bit more work it could be really amazing. It is quite a way out of Portmagee but they do make that clear before booking which we understood.

Amazing location for very good price!

Amazing location, lovely house and well equipped. Host Paula absolute sweetheart and pro. All our requests were met and immediate response to our texts. We were welcomed by beautiful Jane, who showed us and explained everything. In the room was everything you needed. Also there was an access to microwave, fridge and fresh drinking water. Highly recommend! Definitely will be back!

Perfect for a stay on the way around the Ring of Kerry!

This property looked like it had just been renovated or built. Everything seemed fresh and new. There is a cattle farm directly behind the property. We could hear the cows mooing in the morning. The view from the window was overlooking the sea in the distance. As they say in their paperwork this property is out of town so no good for anyone wanting to walk to the pubs etc. in Portmagee. We drove into town and had a lovely meal at the Fishermans Inn. We also did a boat trip out to the Skelligs. It is a great location on the Ring of Kerry. It had all the stuff you needed for an overnight stay.

Top class service from Paula, communication was fantastic and she helped us so much with questions before we even left home, she couldn’t help us enough! Was such a lovely welcome in a beautiful sea view room, extra Fresh towels, glasses, nothing was too much trouble! The views are out of this world , and destination is perfect! Excellent Place

Paula was a very gracious host. She was very nice and accomodating. The location is accessible and in close proximity to Portmagee village and Valentia Island. The en-suite was clean and warm. Bed was comfortable. Fully stocked toiletries, extra towels, water and hot drinks were also available in the room. Quiet during the night which was brilliant for a good sleep. My husband and I had the sauna and jacuzzi all to ourselves! Looking forward to going back to this place soon.

Warm and welcoming hosts in a good peaceful location with a cosy and warm room

The host is super friendly and welcoming. She is available for any questions or help you require. The room was spaces with all the facilities required for a short stay. The property is close enough to town to pop in and get food and drinks. But away enough to have a peaceful retreat.

If I have to pick on an awesome property for the price. It would have to be a suggestion to have shower gel in the bathroom. But this is scraping the bottom of the barrel the place was excellent.
