The hotel overlooks the archeological site, and it is close to an excellent taverna. The room was very simple but clean, the bathroom was updated and clean, and the breakfast was solid with a fair amount of variety. The hotel staff was also friendly. If you're looking to stay in Messene, this hotel is a great value.
The air conditioner (sort of) worked but the temperature didn't seem to change much even when we adjusted the settings on the remote, and we got a little warm overnight. Also, the sound within the hotel carries quite a bit, so we could hear doors closing and people talking with each other.

What a wonderful place! Maria is so hospitable. The room is perfect. The breakfast is a great selection of Greek produce, a lot from her own farm. There is a lovely local restaurant a few metres away and the location is perfect for the ruins. Thank you Maria!

This is a basic tourist hotel, similar to back packer hostels in some countries. It is perfecrly located to see and visit the Ancient Messine sites.
I don't like stale bread for breakfast, two mornings running. Just because we were the only residents that is no excuse. Although there were many dishes containing jams etc to put on yogurt and bread, it was let down by no pastries, and the bread being stale.
