The receptionist Nina was great & extremely welcoming as was the manager the next day who very kindly let us check out late because my daughters were tired and wanted to sleep in. The room was very beautiful, we loved the old style time & stone structure of the building. Mavromatti is a gorgeous little town to stay in so that you can visit the ancient city of Messina early in the day. Highly recommend.
The AC took a long time to start cooling the room.

Welcoming friendly staff, the room was basic and the small bathroom was ok too.
We were told the hours of breakfast when we arrived but not that it wasn’t included. Only after the basic breakfast were we told that it was extra. Poor value for money too. There is no ventilation in the room unless you want to open the unscreened door and let the mosquitoes in. Sure there were pesticide plug ins in the room but we prefer not to be exposed to these things, The beds were firm (hard).
