The owner, Mr Stavros, is incredibly friendly and helpful, and he’s a real asset. He makes brilliant coffee! He treats you to jam and bread, offers advice and tells stories about the area. The balconies are an added bonus, as you can hang your things out to dry there. Clean tovels were available. I felt warmly welcomed throughout my five-day stay. The building has a lovely atmosphere, and the location is brilliant – right next to Kalamata’s old town and the museum. You can walk to the beach or take a bus; the stops are right next door, as is the coach station, from where you can catch a coach to many towns in the Peloponnese. Overall it's more than I expected from a cheap hostel.

If you’re the sort of person who likes their comforts, don’t expect hotel-standard facilities at such a low price. The building is quite old, as are the water pipes; the water on the top floor has a bit of a smell to it, but it’s not too much of a bother – you can always use the bathroom on the floor below.

Great location, very quaint and cosy hostel/hotel with view on the roofs of the old town. Special thanks to Stavros, making me feel welcome and he has been really helping with logistics (e.g. letting me cleaning my wetsuit on the balcony in a bucket, and hanging it to dry :-))

Not so easy to find with the adress, perhaps having a "21" number on the door would help :-)

No more and no less than expected.. stayed here 2 years ago.. stavros is a very nice chap
