Castle in Old Town

Stunning hotel with so much character! Our room was gorgeous and full of interesting features, with 2 outside areas and a fabulous shower, as well as a free standing bath. Every little nook and cranny throughout the hotel has been really well thought out and landscaped or decorated with a great eye for detail. The pool area in particular was stunning and with some of the best views in Tbilisi! The staff were delightful and attentive at all times. We had so many lovely interactions, particularly with Beka, Mika and Gigi, and nothing seemed to be too much trouble for them. We felt very welcome from the start.

The only thing I would warn about is that the hotel was really hard to find on the first night, made harder because it was dark and drizzly. Even our taxi driver struggled to find it! The final approach to the hotel is inaccessible by car, and Google Maps was also quite misleading. In the end a kind local phoned the hotel for us and Gigi came and found us and took us there. It made much more sense in daylight! Basically, you need to be dropped off at the corner of Betlemi Rise and Lado Astiani Street (there's a Spar on the corner). Walk uphill past Cafe Mellow on your left to the Betlemi Steps. Go halfway up the steps, and where the main steps go up yo the left, you need to go up the steps to the right instead. Pass the lower Betlemi Church to your left, and the hotel is tucked away just behind it. A sign at the crossroads of the Betlemi Steps where you have to take the right hand steps would make all the difference there! But honestly, the climb is totally worth it for the views you enjoy when you're there! Also, if you drink decaf coffee/tea, best to take your own because they only provide caffeinated drinks.

The historical details kept by the hotel made the experience more than just a place to stay.

We had a night where the water was cold, so having a shower was challenging. For the size of the property an on-site Gym would elevate guests experience.

A glorious location on the side of the hill on the way. Magnificent pool, arty, comfortable bedroom. A real statement location to stay in. The staff were super helpful and we had a good breakfast

No instructions were given about how to arrive to the hotel, which cost us a LOT of time, stress and sweat with 2 kids on a hot day. This is CRUCIAL as you cannot access the hotel without help from the hotel. It is up a steep staircase up the side of the hill. Call the property before arriving and they'll help with luggage.
