Wonderful little family run homestay with comfy bed and great food, near beautiful waterfalls

Great little homestay in the wonderful town of Munduk

Basic accommodation to explore Munduk

This is a cheap homestay, you get what you would expect from such accommodation in a less touristic area. The Warung has lovely food and a great view, breakfast is good and the family are lovely. The rooms are basic, but they are clean and the shower has hot water. We spend much of our time out of our accommodation exploring the local areas and don't feel the need to have excessive accommodation as we are not in much, this is perfect if you are similar. This place was perfect for what we needed.

Noise seems to be mentioned a lot in other reviews and we also found this to be the case. Luckily we were tired from day time activities, however waking early due to dogs barking and roosters crowing was common. There is no view from the windows, just a wall. If you have stayed in other cheap accommodations throughout Asia you will know this is not uncommon, it didn't bother us but may bother others.

Decent overall

Nice people and all BUT

My room was VERY DARK (no sunlight at all) and the family was smoking constantly. Smoke blew into my room, i hate it. I wasn't comfortable to tell an old grand dad legend to please not smoke in his own home. So I didn't say nothing. My bad too. So bit tricky that one.

Amazing view and very kind owner

Mixed experience but accommodating owner. While the room lacked a window, the owner's kindness shone through as they promptly canceled it for us. The redeeming features were the stunning view and an impressive terrace.

Absolutely loved it.

I cannot speak more highly of the little Homestay. The family have very little English but will genuinely try help as best they can. The location for us was perfect and the views from Munduk are just amazing. We are backpacking so on a budget, but if we are lucky enough to come back budget or not I would definitely stay again. First off I have a thing about showers, I LOVE a good shower, and this is the best I have had in Bali. Temperature and water pressure are perfect. Secondly the food!! Now the breakfast is very limited buuut we still loved it and they will adjust for you if needs be, charged of course. They're food is very clearly freshly cooked and the flavours are amazing and such great value for money! I think it was about 160k for a starter, 2 mains, 2 desserts and 2 drinks. Bedroom was perfect size for us and the bed was very comfortable with good sheets. Now it's not a proper AC that you have, it is just a fan but there isn't a whole need for a proper AC because you're so high up and it does get chilly in the evenings.

Nice family homestay, great warung, nice views and location

The best is the welcoming and nice family you live with and the excellent inexpensive warung. Mountain views are also great (from the other side of Batukaru). Good location close to the path to the waterfalls. Great breakfast. Relaxed atmosphere.

Bed was a bit old. Accomodation is basic but also cheap. At night on weekends there was some loud music playing next door.

Disappointing

The food. The food was amazing! There is a little restaurant were you can eat and the breakfast is served. The location is also perfect. And besides that they don't speak English the people are also really nice.

The room... The room was actually quite horrible..:( we would have given the homestay a 2 but the food was to good for that. There is mold in the bathroom The bed is so broken, and therefore very loud, that you cannot really move without letting the other guest is the other rooms know you move in your sleep.. it is so noisy you cannot sleep if other guests are talking. The dogs outside go on full wolfmode every night, around 2 again and at sunrise. To conclude: we didn't really sleep a lot for 3 nights. Which is kind of the purpose of a hotel/guesthouse etc.

It was an awesome experience during our stay, for two days.

Very good place, we really enjoyed our stay and we'll definitely come back if we'll travel again in Munduk. Nice and quiet place, good prices, excellent breakfast and very good amenities. I totally recommend!

The furniture is a little bit old, but it's not something that bothered us. You could always enjoy the place, ignoring this aspect. I'm not saying it should be replaced, I only say that guests should expect to see old furniture inside the house and the room.

Nice location and cheap. You get what you pay for, ok for a night or two. Restaurant on site is tasty and good value. Staff are friendly and helpful.

There was an aggressive dog on the property and the staff didn't really care to do something about it, so if you are afraid of dogs or travelling with kids, that might not be the right place for you. The breakfast was tasty, but the portion was rather like a snack, not a meal.

L'amabilité du personnel, la propreté, la situation proche des cascades et surtout l'excellence de la cuisine à des prix riquiqui..Jojo n 'a que 3 chambres... il n'y en aura pas pour tout le monde! La famille propose aussi la voiture avec chauffeur.

Etablissement familial très agréable pour notre séjour de deux nuits !

L'accueil, la propreté, la localisation. La salle de restaurant offre une vue superbe, les repas sont variés et délicieux. Le petit déjeuner est très copieux ! L'accueil est juste extraordinaire de gentillesse. L'établissement est proche de beaucoup de cascades (notamment la cascade de Munduk et Baniymala) et non loin du temple Ulun Danu Bratan ... et non loin se trouve la Rizière Dayang, peu connue mais qui mérite le détour !

Peu de chambres et aucune chambre n'offre de jolie vue (une chambre sans fenêtre et deux chambres dont les fenêtres donnent sur un mur) ce qui n'est pas gênant en soi car nous n'y étions que pour dormir. De plus il y a des espaces communs et la salle de restaurant offre une très belle vue !

Passable Unterkunft

Super nette Familien und leckeres Frühstück. Auch zum Abendessen war das Warung eine sehr gute Wahl. Wir konnten uns in der Unterkunft direkt einen Roller mieten. Nachdem von dem ersten leider ein Reifenventil kaputt war, haben wir direkt einen besseren Roller zum selben Preis zur Verfügung gestellt bekommen. Gut für Tagesausflüge von Munduk aus, da der Ort nicht wirklich viel zu bieten hat.

Leider wirklich extrem hellhörig. Würden wir die Sprache verstehen können, hätten wir allen Gesprächen im Haus lauschen können. Auch der Hund bellt recht viel. Teilweise kein warm Wasser, war immer ein kleines Glücksspiel.

chambre donnaznt dans un salon qui donne sur une terrasse avec vue petit dej sympa avec choix , restau bon a prix correcte on y a manger durant tout notre séjour on peux aller voir les cascades à pied depuis l'hotel, ils nous ont trouvé un chauffeur pour une excurssion et un pour notre départ

De sfeer, het eten en de familie. Hele lieve mensen, ontspannen sfeer. Het eten wordt vers bereid en smaakt heerlijk!

Wc en douche samen in dezelfde ruimte. Het is normaal zo, maar onhandig. Het ruikt in de badkamer niet fris. De kamer wordt tijdens het verblijf niet schoongemaakt.

Les wc sont dans la douche ou la douche est dans les wc on ne sait pas trop, l’humidité dans la chambre, la propreté nous ont fait partir une nuit plus tôt.

Una experiencia auténtica y acogedora

Los dueños son muy amables y cercanos. Meriz, el propietario, ha sido excepcional. Me llevó a descubrir los principales atractivos de la zona, como las cascadas, tomándose el tiempo necesario para que pudiéramos disfrutarlas plenamente. Además, hemos compartido momentos únicos tocando la guitarra y cantando juntos. Aunque su inglés no es perfecto, se esfuerza por comunicarse y mejorar, lo cual valoro mucho. Viajando solo, esta experiencia realmente ha marcado la diferencia. La comida es deliciosa, con precios muy accesibles, y la ubicación es excelente para explorar esa zona.

Établissement très propre. Même si le personnel ne parle pas très bien anglais, ils sont adorables ! Proximité de plusieurs activités de la ville. Très bon warung.

Calme et tranquille, une belle vue, chambre tout à fait bien, petit déjeuner très local (pas d’œufs ! Des bananes !) personnel très gentil… Bon restaurant !
