About this house rental
Welcome to "Summer-Salt" a Jenness Beach cottage ready for you to make family memories. Relax on the front porch with a coffee or cocktail and enjoy views of the beach directly across the street (down right-of-way.) Let the sounds of the waves at night soothe you to sleep. The home is on a quiet street east of 1A (Ocean Blvd.), safe for kids to play and cross back and forth to the beach. Renovated in 2017, this home retains the charm of yesteryear while including today's amenities such as stainless steel appliances, washer/dryer, flat screen TV, etc. The cottage has 5 bedrooms, 2 sunny enclosed porches, an updated kitchen, living room, laundry room, two indoor bathrooms, and a private enclosed outdoor shower house. The house sits on a nice grassy lot with room to play.
Unlike many rental properties, we provide everything you need for your vacation other than food and wait staff! Sheets, bath towels, beach towels are all included. The barn holds beach chairs and toys for your use. Even boogie boards and a kayak! Many additional amenities including washer/dryer, dishwasher, internet, cable TV, gas grill, air-conditioned bedrooms, gas stove, oven, etc. It truly is the perfect spot for a family get-way!

Swimming, surfing, boating, fishing, whale watching, and cruises from the beach and nearby Rye Harbor. Minutes to Water Country and Odiorne State Park/Science Center. This was our second time staying at this vintage beach house in Rye. We absolutely love everything about the house from the washer and dryer to the dishwasher and the full bath plus 1/2 bath inside. There is also a bonus shower outside, which is very helpful for the kids coming in from the beach. Beautiful, safe street and a 30 second walk to the beach directly across the street. The cottage is comfortable and has a nice breeze throughout the day. AC in the bedroom too. We have never used it, but it’s nice to know it’s there just in case. This is a perfect place for kids with beach toys, boogie boards, and chairs. Also, plenty of linens provided, including lots of towels. Owner is wonderful and helpful for anything that you need. You can’t beat the location and friendly neighborhood. Added bonus, the beach location is absolutely beautiful and a private-like spot in Rye. We can’t wait to return next year! Thank you for another memorable week. We cherish this week and appreciate you for sharing your home with our family.

This property location is an absolute gem - located directly across the street from beach access. The house itself is old but unique, clean and has a lot of New England cottage charm. The outside shower was a nice surprise - my kiddos loved using it. Will return!

We had a nice time in Rye. The house is old and quirky. There were a number of things that were unexpected: the downstairs bedrooms have glass doors with no curtains, neither bathroom door locks (the upstairs one doesn't even latch), the kitchen is super small and the floor is steeply slanted. The house appears to have been cobbled together over many years. It's comfortable, but strange. Given the price, I would expect a little more.
