Basically the location. Being the only accommodation in Ngong Ping, you could reach Lautau Peak literally in less than an hour (if you are fit enough), so definitely it is the best place for sunrise. Besides, it is far from all hustle and bustle so you could certainly enjoy a fair bit of tranquility.
Don't expect anything comfortable. Hygiene is OK but indeed have got room for improvement. The only staff of the hostel is not very welcoming.
