Hôtel Sèvres Saint Germain

Gorgeous setting and lovely furnishings

Slightly limited food availability and bar closed relatively early one day,but breakfast was brilliant

Excellent location with easy access to Metro and plenty Brasseries and other restaurants nearby.

The hotel is being renovated at the moment so a few problems with bathroom fitments, although noise from works restricted to 10am to 3pm. Notice of renovations however should have been given pre booking

-very friendly staff -fantastic location, just a 4-5 min walk to the metro station that conveniently goes direct go Gare du Nord -large room for Parisian standards -comfy bed -air conditioning -came with a mini-fridge

-the room was a bit run down ((the carpets need to be replaced and the shower drain had some issues that caused the water to easily build up and overflow so I had to stop the water every so often to let it drain before turning it on again) --> they're doing renovations for a couple of floors in the hotel so hopefully if the other rooms get renovated then this won't be an issue any longer -although there was air conditioning you wouldn't be able to feel it if the curtains are closed because the AC unit is right below the window. But if you leave the curtains open then you have light in your room in the morning making it hard to sleep

The location was great & it has a lift.

The A/C was broken in our room & they had ordered temporary A/C units 2 weeks prior. They didn’t tell us this when we checked in. Our first 3 nights were miserably hot & we had to leave the windows open to cool enough for sleep. We were woken up at 5am daily due to the sunlight coming in the windows & noise as well as no privacy. For our last 2 nights they were able to get us a temporary A/C unit which was wonderful. We do feel like we should have received some sort of compensation since we paid for a room with air conditioning & they knew about this pre-existing problem. We asked to receive compensation but were refused. They also were unable to move us to another room. The staff were very nice & did their best, we just would appreciate this being handled differently. We were just asking for what we paid for, nothing more or less.
