The ease of the access code to check in was great, and the location was sensational. The size of the apartment & balcony was terrific.

Getting the Access Code to the room 15minutes prior to check in is steep when my bus transport from Cairns had me arrive in at 11am. This led me to loiter in the main street with suitcase & bags in toe for 3hrs. In an tourist location so remote this needs to be taken into account and facilities made easier to have repeat visitors coming back to the area. The scented oil was too overpowering & l had to put it outside as it gave me a headache on the first night.

Good location right on Macrossan Street near restaurants and shops. The kitchen was fully contained with adequate cooking equipment, full-sized fridge, microwave and dishwasher. Laundry detergent was provided so we were able to wash our dirty clothes before we left. The King-sized bed was very comfortable to sleep in. There was air-conditioning in the bedroom and loungeroom. There are two pools and a spa in the complex which are heated and there were BBQ facilities. The unit had a balcony that overlooked the street, so we were able to sit out there when we were not watching free-to-air TV. The loungeroom had great block-out blinds so it prevented the light and heat in entering the unit during the day.

The cleanliness of the property was substandard. The shower contained a lot of mould in the grouting, the kitchen floor was dirty, the bathroom mirror and sliding door glass was dirty and grimy. We had to buy Exit Mould to spray the shower before we used it which cost us $6. In addition, there were dirty marks on the bedroom wall that appeared to be from a sprayed drink or something else. The fridge had a sign on it that said an extra $25 would be billed if dishes were not cleaned and put away but the drinking glasses were dirty and dusty when we arrived and we had to wash them. The first morning we were there we were woken up at 6am to what sounded like someone knocking at the door. There was no-one there. After another day we put two and two together and realised it was the banging out of the coffee grinds in the cafe below. This happened every morning so woke us up. The TV was not set up properly set up to connect to Wifi hence Netflix etc. There was no elevator to the top floor apartments, so we had to lug our suitcases up three flights of stairs that were not undercover. Parking was limited. After we booked, we found out that the room was not managed by the on-site reception but a third-party provider. I feel that this company probably have no idea about the state of Unit 4.
