Very well equipped for a two week stay. Free house cleaning and fresh linens each week. Very responsive to any questions we had. Bird food provided so that we could enjoy watching the many different birds.
No fans in second and third bedrooms.

An Absolute Gem in Hermanus!
Our extended stay at Onrus Cottage was nothing short of spectacular. The house itself is a perfect blend of comfortable and chic—it truly felt like a home away from home, yet was beautifully styled and well-appointed.
The kitchen deserves special mention; it was immaculate, fully stocked with everything one could possibly need, from high-quality appliances and neat crockery to every utensil imaginable. It made self-catering an absolute pleasure.
The sleeping arrangements were superb; the beds were incredibly comfortable, complemented by good quality linen and sufficient, plush towels.
The features of the house truly elevated our experience. We spent countless hours relaxing in the awesome enclosed patio, which can be fully opened up and boasts a fantastic built-in braai (BBQ). The real "little gem," however, was the rooftop space. It offered a stunning vantage point with beautiful views of both the sea and the mountain—perfect for morning coffee or sunset drinks.
As a wonderful bonus, we were fortunate enough to witness a pair of Cape Dikkops nesting with eggs on the property, which made our stay feel extra special and close to nature.
Highly recommend this cottage for anyone seeking a comfortable, luxurious, and homely base in Hermanus. We would return in a heartbeat!

We really loved our stay at Onrus Cottage. Dave is a wonderful host who is so friendly and helpful. The cottage is absolutely beautiful. It has everything you need, and more, to make your stay comfortable. We loved the braai (barbecue) room with the large dining table and used the fireplace inside for the chilly evenings. The kitchen was spacious and exceptionally well equipped. I loved the gas stove, microwave and air fryer. The cottage is within walking distance to the ocean, by Davies pool. We had so many walks along the beach front. The area is very peaceful and we felt safe walking in the street. The beds are so comfortable and the rooms very spacious. If I could give this cottage a higher rating, I certainly would. We will definitely be back to visit again.

Such a stylish and well stocked home. Comfortable furnishings you could just laze in all day. Indoor fire was a blessing and we enjoyed huddling around it at night for a good giggle.
