Margarita Guesthouse

The location is amazing, it was only a few minutes walk to the main beach in Himare (which has some of the clearest water we’ve ever swam in). The room was spacious for two people and we had a great view of the water and nice space to hang out our wet towels and clothes to dry. The staff are also so lovely. It is clearly a family run business and everyone was very kind and attentive for our whole stay.

We were initially a little surprised when the bathroom was just a wet room with no separation between the toilet/shower/sink, but this ended up not being an issue at all.

The villa is very close to the centre, only 4-5 minutes by foot. It has a big balcony with a great view. The owners were very friendly and helpful.

Unfortunately, my experience did not match the price point. The shower had cold water when we came back from the beach, and the air conditioner made a constant, unusual noise when it was on. The bathroom was in clear need of renovation, with a very loud fan adding to the discomfort. The bed felt unstable and quite uncomfortable, and the overall lighting in the room was dim and poorly designed. I expected a higher standard for the rate charged. Also no parking available is a real headache.

The location is perfect to go to the beach in Himare. Furthermore, the house is really welcoming and Tina is a super host! :) the breakfast was also really good. Big plus of the room was the balcony.

Unfortunately, the bed of our room was really small, we felt the springs of the mattress and it was making non-stop sounds when just turning around. Also, the rest of the interior including bathroom was really basic.

The owner was warm and welcoming :) The house is perfectly positioned in the heart of town, within an easy stroll of nearby beaches and restaurants, and the room was impeccably clean. The balcony was very nice to have!

This guest house has real charm and potential, but the bathroom felt cramped and dated — often dim and without reliable hot water. The water pressure in both shower and toilet was disappointingly low, and several fixtures seemed in need of maintenance. No sockets near the bed. No breakfast or coffee, unlike earlier guest reports, and the air-con proved rather noisy. Stayed 3 nights before moving on to alternate accommodation for the remainder of the trip.
