Convenient location in Munduk

Location and beautiful views over the valley from the balcony. A nice selection of breakfast options served on the balcony.

The communication with the owner was very odd at best. He kept messaging on WhatsApp insisting on direct bank transfer payment. Once I did it, I had to repeatedly ask for a receipt of payment, which I was glad I did because I was told that we had not paid when we checked out. It was quickly sorted once I showed the receipt. Not sure why this homestay got the rating it has. It was our least favourite from our Bali trip.

Disgusting rooms and unprofessional staff

The property was nothing like on the picture and extremely dirty. Absolutely unacceptable. The room was unacceptable. Dirt and dust everywhere, the electrical plugs were not working and the lamps either on one entire wall. The dirt in the toilet and around the drain in the shower was disgusting. Hair knot was just laying there. We asked the staff to clean the room and we will think about it if we want to stay or not. We went to have lunch and came back seeing that they didn’t clean anything at all ( they had 1,5 hours to improve it). We went to reception and asked not to be charged for this. The receptionist called the owner reluctantly and came back saying that it’s ok. We won’t be charged, this way we left. The owner reached out to me 3 weeks later out nowhere that he wants us to pay 30% to his personal account so we won’t be charged by booking - when clearly we are not on location and sending money to his account would not be safe rather proper scamming to offer that weeks after our stay. The owner should have been there on location to discuss instead of leaving to the staff if he was not okay with it. Either way, I expressed my deep disappointment and I believe he should have at least admit his and his staff’s mistake and approve free cancellation for such a disgusting room and unprofessional behavior. He clearly doesn’t take care of the property leaves it to an elderly who perhaps doesn’t see properly to clean. But to not have electricity in walls and all the stuff I mentioned breaks the value proposition to the fullest. What he offers on booking was simply not met in reality. Also he has a 9.2 rating posted from 2015!!! Maybe he blackmails people for good review as he tried with me but truly the place is not what he advertises. BOOKING SHOULD LOOK INTO THIS. The evidence picture speaks for itself and you can imagine the whole room was disgusting like this.

An experience in itself

Its was absolutely amazing, the view was stunning overlooking jubgle and the sunset. The rooms were like a honeymoon, clean and pleasant showers. The breakfast was on another level completely. Highly recommend!

Amazing view, beautiful rooms

What a gorgeous view from the upstairs room! Loved the balcony overlooking the expansive forest. Great shower and lovely clean room. The location was right in town but back from the main street noise. Just a few local roosters to wake you up early :)

the room is spacious, but not cozy, like in the attic. the room is very dusty, my boyfriend immediately started an allergy. the audibility in the hotel is terrible ((every bike is heard from the road, the roosters start yelling at 12 a.m. and yelling all night. The dogs bark all night. The neighbors downstairs did not sleep until 3 a.m., they talked, it felt like they were sitting in our room. we didn't sleep the whole night(. i have stayed in many hotels with good audibility, but this one was the worst. Value for money is bad. For the money, there are good, clean and quiet hotels in the area.

Memorable, magical and fun!

Well placed to get around with ease. I hadn’t been too sure about being on first floor until I saw the amazing views from the spacious balcony. Good size room with very comfy beds, storage and even a fridge stocked with bottled water daily. Delicious breakfast included and service was amazing - nothing was too much trouble. Best of all was Liska- he was knowledgeable and entertaining, spoke several languages and doubled as driver and guide for some incredible sightseeing. He alone made stay worthwhile!

The view is amazing! Best thing about this homestay. The room was clean and comfortable and had a lovely balcony. Breakfast was really good the best we have had in Bali so far. Staff were really friendly and helpful.

A great stay in beautiful Munduk!

A large room with an incredibly comfy bed as well as a small sofa! The shower was a good temperature and had good pressure too! Plenty of storage space. The fridge is good and they provide fresh bottled water every day! The included breakfast is delicious! The view from the balcony across the mountains is stunning!

No kettle, although they are happy to provide hot water if you ask. No air conditioning but being located in the mountains it is a bit cooler and so not a necessary.

Not clean, dust everywhere, spiderwebs everywhere even at an eye level, where you definetely can see it while cleaning. Very dirty and smelly fridge in the room, no toiletries. We have been in much better places here in Bali for cheaper price, so it is dissappointing🥲

Highly recommended!

This family-run accommodation offers everything you could wish for and much more. From the rooms with balconies you have a breathtaking view of the surroundings that will stay with you for a long time. It's the perfect little balcony to start and end the day. Here you will find the peace you need and a good starting point to explore the area. With the scooter/car you can get everywhere quickly and on foot you can spend a few days on the hiking trails. For dining out, there are some great Warungs within a few minutes walk. The owners are always available and willing to help with the planning and you can always contact them. Rarely have I felt as comfortable in a guest house as I do here. The room was sparkling clean and cleaned regularly. Everything was as it should be and there were only good surprises. It is absolutely recommended. Just like the sumptuous breakfast that you get in your room and can enjoy with the view. The Dadar Gulung is a MUST to try. All in all, staying here is all round ideal for a trip to Munduk.

Beautiful view on balcony. Breakfast is different everyday unlike other places we have been and served on your balcony. Very clean, with fresh towels and bedding every day. Beautiful area and cheap bike rental. Extended our stay.

Great place in Munduk

Great great place, the owner was very nice and smiling. The other guy a bit less... The location is perfect, the bed soooo comfy. The view from the room was... wow! The place is super clean. Great Hot shower after the trek. Great great value for your money. I do recommend it to any one.

The breakfast was very not good. The banana juice was not good at all I couldn't even drink it. The pancake were ... ok. Let say, breakfast is not their strong part, but it is served in your room with the incredible view.

Kleine kamer, niet geheel schoon, schimmel op de deur in de badkamer? ijs koude douche, het water word niet warm. Geen airco, wel een waaier die veel geluid maakt. Kamer is zeer gehorig, oordoppen heb je nodig. Ontbijt kwam koud aan. Zaten beestjes op het fruit.
