Port Side Sarande

Unbelievably good, great location great price.

Dog barking outside of property day and night and noise coming from other flats in the building.

Beautiful large, modern apartment, fully equipped kitchen, big balcony with fantastic view over the port and across to Corfu. Extremely comfortable. Great location with a gym and a grocery store right next door, and many fine restaurants nearby at all different price levels. The ferry to Corfu is a few steps away and it was enjoyable to watch the boats coming and going from the balcony. The apartment is on the fifth floor, so I was grateful to find a working elevator! The hosts were nice and very responsive. All in all a great stay and I would happily stay there again.

i’m a senior and not interested in noisy nightlife, so I was very happy to visit in February and March. Saranda is a beach town and many hotels and businesses are closed during the off-season, so it’s quite empty and quiet during the winter. I’m sure it’s a whole different story once the summer tourists arrive and the beach clubs are all open till late at night, just FYI.

The side water view from the balcony was great. The apartment had a separate bedroom with wardrobes. The bathroom had a nice walk-in shower with plenty of hot water and great water pressure. There was a handy washing machine. The kitchen had a full-size refrigerator. The stove top takes a little trial and error. As others have mentioned, a chef's knife would be nice to have on hand. It was great that I could pay by credit card at the owner's parents' apartment on the same floor. Spar supermarket is one minute walk away. There are plenty of good restaurants nearby like My Family and Black Marlin.

The building itself had some drawbacks. There is a pretty big slope from the street to the entrance. There was construction noise during weekdays. On two occasions, other tenants didn't close the outside elevator door so it didn't operate. Taking the stairs wouldn't normally be a big deal but two flights of stairs were completely dark in the middle of the day. I had to feel for the next step with my foot while holding the railing because I couldn't see it. I would recommend downloading a flashlight app on your phone, just in case.

The view here is amazing with a nice balcony, the location is brilliant rite next to the port, the apartment is spacious and the beds are super comfortable. The area has everything you need restaurants close by and a shop just down the street.
