The property was so clean and well presented. Plenty of cleaning products which is always nice. The hosts were exceptional and welcoming, with lots of unexpected treats.

There was nothing we didn’t like.

Everything! Felt like staying inside a Botanical Garden. Abel was a great host and so welcoming, he even shared with us his veg and fruits from his garden. The best avocado we ever ate. Also, there is a great sunset view from the roof top of our flat.

Nothing!

It was absolutely beautiful and we a wonderful welcoming lunch with tuna salad, fresh bread and wine. There was baskets of eggs and fruits, Madeira wine and honey cake and a fridge full of drinks. Best of all was Theresa’s delicious home made flan. We have travelled a lot but nut never experienced such generosity from hosts. The apartment itself was beautiful, tucked away in the garden surrounded by banana trees. It was so quiet that all you could here was the gentle sound of the hens pecking when we sat outside at the table. There was a rooftop terrace above the apartment which had amazing views of the Ocean and the City. The swimming pool also has wonderful view of the sea. Around the corner the are two mini markets, an artisan bread shop and a fruit and vegetable shop. There is a good bus service to Funchal and botanic gardens which were amazingly beautiful. Then we came home to Theresa’s botanic garden. Every inch is covered in vegetables, fruits and flowers. We were invited to help ourselves. One night Theresa gave us fresh runner beans from it. In January !

For winter visitors a cover over the pool at nighttime would be welcome but maybe not worth the expense or the work. It must be lovely and warm most of the year.

Exceptional stay. My second time here and it was just as amazing as the first time. Edgar is helpful and super responsive when booking and his parents Abel and Teresa are the most kind and humble people ever. We were warmly greeted and shown around by Abel who has so many treats waiting for us....from a homemade flan and tuna dish to fresh bread from the bakery and eggs and fruits from the garden, together with a fridge full of of drinks, and breakfast ingredients. The hospitality and generosity is second to none. The world would be a better place if we had more people like this in it. The garden is so beautiful and immaculate, and you can definitely tell it's a true labour of love. Absolutely loved my stay and can’t wait to go back again soon.

Location might be an issue for some but didn't make a difference to me.....enjoyed the quiet location with amazing view
