Dona I Apartments at Botanical Garden

Clean and tidy, great location and beautiful views

We were very happy with our stay in this apartment. The slightly remote location from the center of Funchal made it a much quieter place, which added to our comfort. If you rent a car during your trip, there are absolutely no issues with accessibility. The parking was also very convenient, with a dedicated space, making it easy to park without any issues. The apartment itself is beautifully renovated and truly wonderful. We found almost everything we needed and even more, which clearly shows the attention and care for guests. There were thoughtful amenities such as slippers, a washing machine with detergent capsules, a blender in the kitchen, an iron, a razor etc. We’ve also had salt, oil, all the necessary kitchenware and much more in our apartment. The apartment was very spacious and clean. The storage space was also very convenient, including a very practical clothes rack in the bedroom. We really enjoyed our stay, and staff were always responsive and helpful, quickly answering any questions. Check-in and check-out were smooth and very convenient. We are truly grateful for this experience.

There were only a few minor downsides, which in any case did not outweigh all the positives. However, I will mention them for completeness. Only one pair of slippers was provided. The balcony floor was quite dirty. The pillows were of average quality. The freezer compartment also needed defrosting, as there was a lot of ice build-up, making the drawers difficult to open and close. Additionally, the hot water supply was sometimes insufficient due to the boiler, so we occasionally had to wait. That said, all of these issues seem easy to fix and did not significantly affect our overall positive impression of the stay. Thanks a lot for our staying ❤️

Some plates and bowls were chipped should be replaced (small criticism)

Wonderfully clean place. Fantastic views. Great water pressure and powerful showers (nothing worse than a dribbling shower). Comfy beds. Parking included. Not much not too like.

Be aware that the property is located a little outside of central Funchal and is about a 20-30 minute downhill walk. We did this a coupe of times but you definitely need a ride back up which isn't a problem w/Uber or Bolt.
